Just watched a replay of Melbourne-Penrith. What a competition the NRL is, chuck the reserves, theyā€™ll still be fantastic.

Mohamed Abdo with the groovy sound of swinging Saudi Arabia. Probably quite well known there, I imagine.

Cuts loose 5 minutes in.

Itā€™s clear Leeds came out to blow us away today. Iā€™m surprised they eased up in the last 10-15 minutes.

He was absolutely spent after 70 minutes, but with no one to come on he had to keep going. It says something about him that we were the team threatening to score at the end. He loves it here, you can tell.

Nice showing by DembƩlƩ too, put them back on their heels. A bit surprising to see them settling for the draw.

Silence, ye doubters!!!

Terrible list management to let a team grow old together, poor recruitment of Leniu and Brandon Smith combined with bad luck on Suaā€™aliā€™i and Tupuoniua leaving and Walker getting crocked. They played last week like they had no forwards at all, so without Collins this week I thought they might ship 80. What do I know, except perhaps that the Broncos might be very good again under a tougher coach.

To be fair, Dom Young was hopeless last week but excellent today.

Medieval lepers didnā€™t ring bells to warn people away, they clacked castanets. Much more jolly.

Dean Sturridge. An outstanding first ten minutes.

Tony Thorpe and Jamie Cureton underperformed by their standards.

Malorees Primary in Brondesbury Park followed by St Benedictā€™s in Ealing, courtesy of Brent Councilā€™s export subsidies for Catholics. The free place was probably the reason the monks left me alone. Quite a few Rangers and Brentford fans, the wannabe bullies went to Stamford Bridge.

Millwall keepers sending off

The Germans were given a goal kick if I remember the Schumacher incident properly. Watching it at the time (one of the most thrilling games Iā€™ve ever seen), it didnā€™t seem that outlandish at the time, perhaps because I was following the ball. Replays told a different story!

Mateta fouled his man, free kick to Millwall!

You would imagine the police had more urgent claims on their time, without inventing crime. Good on her for resisting re-education. And yes, Newcastle are within their rights to exclude whoever they want to, even if none of this ā€œhate speechā€ occurred in a football ground, but they can leave the police out of it.

Thanking the authorities for their ā€œreeducationā€ undertaken on the threat of prosecution is kiss-the-lash grotesque, particularly as whatā€™s legal and illegal seems to stem from bureaucratic fiat - see the current Sandie Peggie/NHS Fife case. Ban people from private property if you donā€™t like their behaviour, but prosecution? How long have we been at war with Eastasia?
