Ted Lasso
at 19:39 15 Jan 2024

Thought Ted Lasso started off OK but went downhill quickly. Hated it after a while.

Put her onto the equally hyped 'Welcome To Wrexham'. Real & way, way better. Cos of the Hollywood actor owners quite a few non-football fans enjoy it.

Thought I'd hate it but no - I think Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney come across pretty well and it's great to see them get slowly but surely sucked into the life of a football fan.

Be interesting to see how far Wrexham go. That series is very popular and they have quite a few (very rich) showbiz contacts. I know they are actors - but I think they have gained a genuine love of Wrexham and the surrounding area. As long as they make sure to keep the club for the real, long term, local fans - and not a ground full of rich tourists - then I wish them well. We'll see 'ey?

Awful band. Beergut 100 were a lot better.
Yes - they were a real band:

How about....

If a player goes down injured and the game has to stop.
1/ His team has to all go to the centre circle. The other team can go to the sideline to talk to the manager
2/ He has to leave the pitch and is not allowed back on until his team has their next goal kick or kick off (so his team are down to 10 until other team has a shot or score a goal).

Exceptions:
He can be subbed and his team have a full 11 as usual (has to be him that goes off)
He is down injured due a tackle deemed worthy of a yellow or red card

This would stop a lot of the fake stuff that is getting out of hand nowadays. You're either injured - or you ain't. I bet you'd see way, way less teams beckoning the other team to kick the ball out of play cos someone is laying down. That is for sure.

Ings has turned down a 4-year deal. He's off...
at 14:40 6 Jul 2021

He'd go to P***** if they offered to pay him more than Saints. Back in the real world - Brentford? He'd be off there in a flash as it would be a 'wonderful opportunity to play for an ambitious club with a new stadium and great fan base'.

Wish players would cut the BS.
If Minnesota United offered to double/triple his salary it would be 'I've always dreamed of playing in the MLS and as someone who loves really cold winters it is a dream move for me'.
He'll go to anyone who offers him a higher salary. It's as simple as that.

Manchester City 5 - 2 Southampton - Player Ratings and Reports
at 23:15 10 Mar 2021

Game wasn't *too* bad but I had to suffer it with Peter Drury as the commentator. He actually screamed YES! when Man City scored their 4th goal. Thought commentators were meant to be neutral? Bloke needs stringing up.

"Peter Drury is an excellent commentator"

Please tell me you are joking.
If it's Saints v any of the so-called big teams we may as well not exist. All he'll do is talk about the opposition and scream out their star players name every time they are anywhere near the ball.
Saints 4 Man Utd 0. Can 'united' get back in this - can it be the most famous of come-backs - who can forget the time they... ROOOOOONEEEEEY - what a throw-in that was.
Awful commentator.

What time/channel is the us debate on?
at 16:25 27 Sep 2016

Trump's gone all boring. He ain't any good at doing all the tedious, political stuff. Hillary casually swotted him aside last night without breaking a sweat.

He needs to lower the tone of the next debate. Drop in some fart jokes, ask Hillary if she's taken any lessons from Monica, show some pictures of what his wall will look like, have a pop at the Pope, women, Muslims, Brits, Mexicans, Chinese, scientists and just about anyone else he had a dig at previously. It worked. People lapped it up.

We're gonna build the wall! YEAH! Who's gonna pay for it? Mexico! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!

That was all missing last night. Probably rightly so... Should have sworn more though:

You can get 80/1 that Saints finish top 4 (as short as 25/1 in places).

It is possible, just not very likely with only 7 games to play.

Yeah it's been 'lino' for years. That ain't new & trendy at all and I don't mind it.

Now 'assistant referee' - anyone who says that needs to die. In the nicest possible way of course.

Great Start For LA vs Top Team In The East
at 15:49 8 Mar 2016

Why does everyone always have to compare the MLS to other leagues?

The MLS has a salary cap. This stops it becoming world class (ie some rich owner can't sign up a whole team of current superstars).

It is however a good, competitive, professional league.

Wish they'd change the structure though. Having half the teams make the post-season is a bit farcical.

Premier League wide open this season

14 games to go...

Man City v Leicester on Sat is obviously a crucial game. I think if Leicester lose it doesn't automatically give Man City the title though. It was only a couple of weeks ago that Leicester had 'collapsed' and the title was on it's way to Arsenal.

Leicester beating Lpool last night was very enjoyable. 'they only won because of a wonder strike'. Umm, yeah. Don't great goals count for non-media darling teams then?

A great weekend for City. Leicester City that is (why do non-Mancs call the Manchester teams 'City' & 'United' - cos the media does? does my head in).

Anyway with 15 games to go Leicester have every chance of actually winning the thing - let alone finishing top 4. No cup distractions and nobody else really looking that good.

Great reading some of their forums. They really don't believe it and it's funny how they now get hassled when they say they support Leicester. How long for? Why is that? You only support them because they are top of the league. etc. This being asked of fans who live in Leicester and have supported them all their lives. They now feel as if they have to carry around a selection of old season tickets to show to people before they can talk about football with them.

On April 2nd they can p#ss off but I'm cheering them on in all their other games. How long before I hate them? Prob not long but for the moment - good luck Leicester.

Rivalry, Crowd Trouble, Sensational Ending

Teams who have won the Superbowl the most:
6 Pittsburgh Steelers
5 Dallas Cowboys
5 San Francisco 49ers
4 New England Patriots
4 Green Bay Packers
....
0 Minnesota Vikings
0 Cleveland Browns
0 Detroit Lions

Strange how cities similar to Pittsburgh & Green Bay like Cleveland, Detroit or Minnesota don't seem to pick up many fans from all over the country.

A bit like Tranmere, Stockport or Orient. It's always Liverpool, Man Utd or Arsenal...

When Green Bay have 30,000+ away fans in San Diego how many do you think actually are from Green Bay? Let alone still live there. A very small percentage. They haven't 'traveled well' at all. Just like when Liverpool play away at Saints midweek. Spot the Scouse accent in the away end.

Have a nice day ya hear :-)

Steelers and Packers are like the Man Utd & Liverpool of the NFL. ie the majority of their fans live nowhere near Pittsburgh or Green Bay (but of course all have their lovely little stories as to why they support them).

You see 100's of the f*****kers all over the place. Hate them.

Here's to Denver smashing Pittsburgh next week. Good luck to Washington today as well.

This was the 'hand ball' for the pen in the last min to allow Mexico to equalize. Panama had been playing most of the game with 10 men after a debatable straight red in the first half.

It took over 10 mins before the pen was taken. Handbags a plenty. Gotta say fair play to Guardado who put the pen away well after the ultimate 'icing'.

Link in Spanish. Kinda adds to the chaos of it all:

Jamaica rode their luck but at least it was a fair win. Unlike Mexico. Their game v Panama was all over the place. You had to keep watching cos you really did think the ref was gonna get decked at some point.

Panama players let CONCACAF know what they think of them at the end of the game. Corrupt!

Still no tickets on sale...

Fair play. Can you point your cell phone at the screen and stream it to me stood outside?

I haven't given up hope of $10 tickets for the weigh-in though! Don't think they've said when these go on sale yet.

Should be a good week.
