Laudrup speaks via the LMA
at 16:31 6 Feb 2014

No offence meant, but that´s another selfrighteous post typical for the enviroment in here. I was one of those who said I would remain a Swansea supporter and I stand by my word. Just because I don´t participate in one of the worst and most schizofrenic revisionistic treatments of a manager I have ever seen, and remain rather critical towards the newest dispositions of the club, which quite frankly has disappointed me a lot, it does´nt mean I don´t support the club.

It demands either much patience (perhaps more patience than I have) or some sadomasochistic desires - that I for sure don´t have - to listen to the never-ending suspicion and misbelief against foreign supporters, to the constant "f...k" off you Danes" , "we won´t miss you", "you f...k Laudrup-lovers" etc etc. Even otherwise reasonable posters post crap like that.

Fair enough, but what do you expect people to do when they read something like that? Kiss your ass?

What goes around, comes around.

Have a nice day.

Skysports 5 days ago:

"Swansea boss Michael Laudrup confirmed that he met with Ince on Monday, and put the case to him to move to south-west Wales.

"As far as I understand he has the okay from Blackpool so that is what he is doing," said Laudrup.

"I answered his questions as to how we do things here and that is what it is about but his contract is almost over and it is up to him what he wants to do."

Thanks - haven´t seen that one :) Well, in that interview he says that: "As I long as I can see that there's a lot of confidence in the team… then I'm not worried". But he then also says: ...."I have a lot of respect for the numbers and it could be moments when we are just a few points away from that bottom three."

He knows there is a reason to be concerned but believes in his team. Seems a good approach to me. More constructive than much of what is said in here :)

Where does Laudrup say he is not concerned? Very recently he stated that it would be very "arrogant" not to be concerned 3 times in a row in this interview just before the Man City game:

Thats´s another myth. In the last 6 games we gained 8 points, which is the 11th highest in the league (regarding the last 6 games) - precisely the same position we have in the table. By comparison Arsenal gained 10 in their last 6 matches.

Sweat on this season
at 12:23 23 Dec 2013

In my oponion, there is some tendency of revisionism setting in in some of the posts in here.

1.One is that we were more consistent before this season. Allegedly, we were more consistent, it goes, in the last two seasons where we ended 11th and 9th. However, we are presently number 11, we have, as other have pointed out before me, the same amount of points for 17 games as we had for 19 games in 2011/12 and with 20 points we still have two matches to come close to the 25 points we got in the end of a strong first half of a season in 2012/13. In other words: Inconsistency is what we are all about. If we were more inconsistent we would presently be in bottom 6; if we were less inconsistent we would be in top 6. So the claim that we are inconsistent is fully correct, but it´s a revisionism and a myth to claim that is something particularly new.

2.Another revisionism is that we have lost all our possession skills. Looking at the stats we see a different story: In the season 2011/12 we had a total of 58% possession and 85,7% in pass success. In the season 2012/13 we had a total of 55,3% and a pass success of 85%. And in the season of 2013/14 we have so far had a total of 59,5% possession and a pass success of 86,8% - the highest during the Premier League time. So whatever our problem is, it´s not strictly speaking the possessions skills....

3.Somebody asked if Redknapp was idiotic when he said that he expected us to end in top 6. Personally, I don´t think so. I just think that he had some expectations that turned out to be unrealistic and that - by not admitting this - he is guilty in some revisionism. For it was the same man who in April 2011 stated that he would prefer not to qualify for the Europe League since - and I quote - "the Europa League takes an even bigger toll in my opinion (than Champions League), that's the problem. That Thursday night one, every week, and playing Sundays every week...". So knowing this, is it logical that Redknapp - or whatever other pundit - now comes back saying that we should be in top 6? Is it logical to expect us to do better than - lets say - Tottenham - who is also doing EL and who is presently number 7? Or Liverpool last year? Or is it a sign of revisionism that we SHOULD have done better than those huge clubs?

Just to prevent misunderstandings, and - hopefully - slip away from being accused for dictatorship or the like, I regard expectations to be something highly individual and personal, and if fans expect us to be in top 8 or top 6 while doing a European campaign, I don´t see any problem in that. I also think that some of the criticism being made of the team and the manager is fair. But I think the arguments supporting the anger and frustration that we are not in a better position should be based on facts and not on revisionistic arguments.

Norwich City V Swansea City official matchday thread
at 10:51 15 Dec 2013

Seems to be happening already:

"Swansea City have handed a trial to Hungarian youngster Akos Baki.

The 19-year-old midfielder currently plays for MTK, where Swansea have spotted him.

Now Baki is due in South Wales after the club issued an invite to him, which will take place during the Hungarian winter-break which runs from December to February.

"The English league is both physically and mentally perfect and professionally it is a huge step forward for me to work at a Premier League team," Baki told Rangado.

"This gives you a good dose of self-confidence as well, as you know it will take a lot of talent for someone to be successful internationally." (From Skysport).

As far as I know Baki is a right back, not a midfielder, but lets see....

5) Foreign plastic-supporters who have only seen the Hull game on video, who know nothing, who are nothing, but who will nevertheless support the team whatever happens and regardless of how "boring" they play and in which league they play (admittedly I don´t know how many fans are in this group, but at least I am haha...)
