Constant Re-Shuffling Is The Cause Of Southampton's Problem's
at 13:28:03

I like your article, it contains many of the things I’ve been thinking. At least under Martin the players played some good football at times. Under WillStill we seem, at the moment to be floundering a little. I’ve put this down to new players who have come in but who, so far , have not really improved the squad. Going through the team. The spine is not strong enough. It seems to me that the 2 goalkeepers are ok, one can’t save shots but is not bad with his feet the other saves a few, not at the near post though, but is not good with his feet. The full backs were ok Maerslev on one side and wellington/ Manning on the other were all pretty solid. The trouble we have is keeping clean sheets, same as the last two years or more. The defenders seem to make rudimentary mistakes. The centre back position is a huge issue, is it Stephens, Edwards, Wood, THB, Quarshie etc. Get two at the back and let them build a partnership. I would favour Wood and Quarshie at the moment but again they are all much the same quality. But play 4 at the back. How can you commit going forward when you don’t trust your defence?

Apart from the excellent Shay Charles we are struggling in midfield, goodness knows who will play here, where has Robinson gone, why is Aribo (wages) no where near the squad? We have a plethora of average wingers come mid field players.

Then up front it seems the manager wants to get lots of crosses in but unless we give players stilts or play Downs we are not going to score many. Downs may yet come good. I remember Beattie when he arrived here, it seemed difficult for him to trap a bag of cement but he came through and we all loved him. Give Downs a run in the team and let’s give the guy a chance. We can’t play Adams and Archer up fron as they are too small. I like both of these but again who to choose, they are almost the same in size, ability and speed. We have got to get a balance in the side and from there let them play and find each other.

The final words from me are that we have too many bang average players. That maybe, is why the manager can’t pick a settled team.

Saints Are Tackling Issue With Away Fans In Home Areas At St Mary's
at 16:06:55

If we had more fans then this situation couldn’t happen. But in this day and age it is unbelievable that we cannot put up with someone supporting another team in your area of the stadium.

As long as the away supporter keeps reasonably quiet and there are not great numbers of them then who cares?

With large numbers infiltrating an area this is a recipe for trouble but if the fans grew up and just enjoyed the GAME for what it is I.e. a GAME then why should we have a problem?

You can go into pubs in Southampton and mix with opposition supporters before the game and not have trouble but as soon as we get near or in the stadium the battle lines seem to be drawn and away we go. It’s about time the tribalism was abandoned and yes support our team but for goodness sake enjoy the game for the craic and don’t worry who you’re stood next to. (Unless of course it p….y).

Whatever Your Opinion On Ralph Hasenhuttl He Deserves Respect
at 11:15:44

The article was well written and I share its sentiments. I thought the chant was small minded and somewhat typical of the support we provide at times.

I would say I groaned at Ralph’s substitutions but he did the business. I also groaned at how the players and manager celebrated the victory. For goodness sake we played Bournemouth not City or Liverpool. You’d have thought we had won the cup!

As to Ralph I like him as a person. I like the way he handles himself in front of the media. I believe at times he is too emotional and sometimes I believe he hasn’t a clue what to do to win games.
I’m not sure if I want Ralph to stay or go but if he does go I will always remember him as a person whom I respect.
