Apparently he used to work at the club years ago... Someone has messaged me to see if I know him but don't... thought it was worth a shot on here?

@TVOS I havent said I didnt agree - but hindsight is a wonderful thing maybe the club didnt realise it would get jumped on as its the retained list everyone wanted to see - Im sure we arent the only club that hasnt released a statement.

@ColDale Yes - it should bring revenue to the club - I havent disputed that either - but its not like Asda, you are selling to a specific market and will only get a certain type of customer so of which havent got endless pots of money. I for one
havent got extra money to spend in the shop every week.
I think the club have recently improved the merchandise in there but there is only so much you can do and it still be effective. There is no point kitting out the club shop with hundreds of new items if they arent going to sell. Surely bringing new things in bit by bit is better that spending shed loads of money we havent got? There are improvements to be made on everything like you
have said and I have seen improvements in the club in recent years.

@Macro Im not talking shite and I am not ignorant. There is no need to be rude. Those points are just my opinion which I am entitled to. Nobody has said my opinion is right (me included - as its just an opinion) and I havent said that anybodys is wrong.

to be fair I hadnt seen TVOS thing when I posted it. But if they hadnt had the statement and had no timescale its again difficult. Put a date and you will be held to it - dont put a date and be accused of not knowing anything!
People will always find ways of seeing how things could be done better. The club got a new press person and things were updated more regularly - again that doesnt seem to be good enough. We dont know the ins and outs of the club and what goes on inside. Its a business and businesses dont air everything. We could have the best PR/Marketing/Shop in the country and people will still find faults.

So if they didnt have the statement at the same time would you suggest putting the retained list back to this morning when they had the statement? Or Monday if they didnt have it until then? Then there would have been a thread started about the PR being crap and they shouldnt have waited and just put the list out first! And why are you presuming that it was recorded Thursday or Friday and using that presumption to say they just decided not to put it out with the list? If they had it why on earth wouldnt they release them at the same time?!

Yes - how dare they go on a holiday with their mates... they should be sat rocking in a corner thinking about what they have done! How long are they supposed to be punished?

And my employer regularly pays for me to go to Spain when I get annual leave......

Leave the lads alone and let them have their holiday!

I reckon its just a timing thing to be honest. As I said in my last post - JC isnt a magic man - he cant do everything at the same time

Just a thought.... we dont actually know when the statement was given? It may have only been done this morning or late last night? It could have been planned days ago and Mr C hasnt had chance yet? After all I would have thought sorting out your players futures for the following season would be more important? Surely its impossible to put a statement on a website if you dont have one? We are all quick to jump at the website but if you dont have the information at hand then it must be pretty difficult! Unless of course you h=would like the club to start making them up to keep you happy?!
Obviously the retained list was a big one and everyone was desperate to see it, Im pretty sure JC would have been finalising that first and not thinking oh - I need to do a statement about the list I havent finished yet. Talks could have been going on up until its release which would make it impossible to write a statement, finish a list and finalise any talks all at the same time?
Just my thoughts but then again, most people would rather search for the negative points rather than look at the reasons behind things.....

Now I'm sure I will get jumped on for being 'wrong' but, I disagree with this. They players are not 12 years old. It's not like giving a toddler praise when they have been naughty. I think they are old enough to know that we havent had a good season. But by not having an awards night, its pushing more negative energy onto the team. Mr Coleman will probably be fully aware of who is going and who is staying next season so let him do his job of managing the team - our job is to support that. So buy your ticket, its only £10 and support the players that have worked there backsides off, stop focusing on the negative factors and let the players know they still have the support behind them in preparation for next season.

Wasn't the reason the 'Scots lass' who has a name by the way - was there writing something down instead of watching the game because her laptop was knocked over and smashed by a Scunthorpe fan?! It was either that or no match report and I'm sure there would then be another thread on 'Where's the match report?' She has not been with the club that long and her job title isnt 'Pefect Match Day Commentator' so give her a break - she stood in so the fans that couldnt make the game could get a better picture. She might not have 'contributed' that much but what she did say was correct, appropriate and a good reflection of the game. I think Stuarts enthusiasm adds to Martin's commentary - they are Dale fans - they react - whats the problem?! I'd rather have someone genuinely interested in the score and the club than someone impartial...

Obviously people are entitled to their own opinions and thats mine......
