While the lass is watching take me out I thought I'd chuck in my 2p worth.
Fully expected a difficult game for us today and turned put to be just that. Thought we were poor in the first half and struggled to gain control, Rochdale broke us down very well in the middle of the park and closed down quickly.
Second half we seemed to have a lot more space in front of the back four. Don't know if Hill messed up his tactics?
Our two goals were sloppy but can't complain. After the second went in you responded well, tested Martinez numerous times and scored a cracker (which was applauded by the fans around me).
Thought the sending off was harsh from the view I had. Not entirely sure contact was made but Mattock shouldn't have left a leg trailing. We made annoying mistakes towards the end and should have seen the game out better than we did.
Overall very happy with the result, very difficult place to come to and very enjoyable kick around.

I wasn't there last time 'round but think it'll be a completely different experience.
The vast majority of fans know not to underestimate any club, and almost all of our own fans are taking the p*ss when they start calling us a 'massive' club. We're a terrible team this year, despite recent results, and I fully expect a close cup tie.
Most won't be going there expecting a spanking, especially considering we struggled against Macclesfield. I am personally already gearing up for a defeat.
There are numpties in all clubs and it's fair to say Rochdale has it's fair share of problems, none of which will be held in prejudice. [Post edited 17 Jan 2014 13:16]

In the grand scheme of things, I would probably rather see a flimsy advertising board passed around than chairs thrown at me and a player assaulted on the pitch...
...But the 'genteel' L**ds fans wouldn't know anything about that, would they?
Hope that helps to put things into perspective. I'm a peaceful Wendy and very much looking forward to my first trip to Spotland, regardless of the result. |

Lads, the whole thing's a wind up. Been a member of owlstalk long enough to know that nothing on there is serious. Hopefully, you can sleep easy now knowing that Macclesfield brought a good following. |
