| Forum Thread | Cathcart the latest to have a pop! at 14:30 1 Jun 2015
Blackpool's nosedive into turmoil has come as no surprise to former defender Craig Cathcart, who believes the writing has been on the wall for some time. Cathcart left Bloomfield Road at the end of last season following four years with the Seasiders, during which time he played in the Barclays Premier League and reached a Championship play-off final. But by the time he departed for Watford they had barely survived in the second tier and Cathcart was not stunned to see them slip out of the top two divisions last term. The Seasiders' problems go way beyond their on-field fortunes - with no manager and only seven players currently in place and an unpopular chairman at loggerheads with both his own supporters and boardroom members - and Cathcart is saddened by their current plight. "To be honest, you could see it coming over the years," the Northern Ireland international said. " The first two years I was there we got relegated (from the Premier League) by a point, the following year we got to the play-off final and from then on we seemed to let our best players leave on a free and we couldn't really replace them. "It's obviously concluded with what's happened there now. It's a difficult time for Blackpool but hopefully they'll bounce back." |

Bury are delighted to announce that centre-back Peter Clarke is our first signing of the summer.... The former Huddersfield Town skipper joins the Shakers on a two-year deal after leaving Blackpool at the end of the season. Clarke, who was released by Huddersfield Town a year ago, was a regular in Blackpool's starting eleven last season and was rated as one of the best performers in the side. The 33 year-old centre-back brings a wealth of experience to the side, having played more than 550 games throughout his career. He has also featured in England's Under 21's side, gaining eight caps between 2002 and 2003. Clarke began his career at Everton. During his time with the Toffees he made nine league appearances and had loan spells with Blackpool, Port Vale and Coventry City. |

Think Gilks is an irony because pretty sure if he'd stayed fit all season we would have stayed up in the Prem. |
| Forum Reply | How many seasons will it take us to get out of League One at 18:02 28 May 2015
I think if you were a fan of Blackpool during those barren years from the 70's to 2007 then you'll know exactly how tough it is to get out of those lower leagues. The Oyston's could have gone earlier and given us a decent base to move on but instead I fear the way they're going they will actually leave us in a worst state than when they arrived (despite their claims otherwise) |

Could happen on Saturday IF Villa beat Arsenal .. anyone remember a time when we bowed out beaten by the eventual winners of the competition? |

Can't help feeling in terms of a stunt whether events are accurate or it is a PR exercise, I can see this one backfiring badly! Always said they weren't businessmen and it's proving that way more and more! |

| Forum Reply | Robbie, how do you see the endgame playing out on this debacle? at 13:39 24 May 2015
Ribbie made a point there about the owners going nowhere if the business isn't profitable. Isn't that the case that with the hotel, restaurants, rented space etc etc that it's unlikely BFC will ever be unprofitable if KOKO doesn't spend on the football side which is the one area which would see a deficit? They've got what they set out to achieve now which is an income from a piece of land where the football is just an inconvenience! The end game .. life in the lower leagues until such point as they get bored of the abuse. |
| Forum Reply | OneDaveBamber did a great countdown last season .. at 13:36 24 May 2015
If we're honest Dunne (although have major misgivings about him) and maybe Ferguson if he has a good pre-season will be good enough to start the season for us. We need another 16 players minimum and more importantly rather than numbers we actually need some quality in the side. However, as we saw last season no pre-season kills you before you've started and so I'd say with only 5 weeks to go until the players return the maths probably speak for themselves!! |

1. It's a crap name - although like a Parliament there are so many differing views you'll never get fans to agree on what should be taken to the board 2. Why not just meet with representatives from the existing fan groups 3. What's the qualification process? Is it just apply and you're in the hat .. and finally is this just lip service or are the O's ready to listen to the fans? If they truly are then the first thing they'd do is leave!! |
