New deals at Spotland Friday, 31st Dec 2010 11:37 by Col Four Dale players have extended their time with the club, one of which is a permanent signing. The permanent signing will see Nicky Adams become a full fledged Dale player on January 1st when the transfer window opens. This has been pretty much expected as his loan deal was always down as being with a view to a permanent transfer. It is believed that Adams will cost Dale an initial fee of £25,000 to capture his services from Brentford and will end a long running pursuit of the former Bury wingman. The second major deal has seen Jason Kennedy put pen to pay on a new two and a half year contract, keeping him at Spotland until the end of the 2012-13 season. Kennedy had been linked with a move elsewhere in the press recently, but this will put an end to such speculation. Dale boss Keith Hill had talked about the club needing stability with too many loan players around the club, and with a deal such as this, it will allow for further long term planning. Also, Matt Done's contract has been extended until the end of the season. Done has impressed in his recent contributions and has been set aside for praise from the management for his abilities, whilst demanding more from the former Hereford winger. This deal will allow him further opportunities to impress and win a longer spell with the club. Keeper Matty Edwards has been given a month to month contract. This is perhaps worrying for the back up keeper, as previous contracts have been six month affairs. His time with the club has been beset with a succession of injuries, and such a short term deal would suggest he has a short space of time to prove himself to the club.
