![]() Tuesday, 4th Oct 2011 09:21 by TWTD.co.uk Blues boss Paul Jewell has revealed that he renewed his interest in Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey last week, prior to the ex-Charlton man’s loan switch to Blackpool. Town were first mentioned in connection with the 19-year-old earlier in the summer. Jewell said: “We tried to get the boy Shelvey here last Friday but we couldn’t guarantee him a start and Blackpool could. “We’re looking for all types of players. You can only have five loan players in your matchday squad, so we can’t bring loads in but we’re always looking to improve the squad.” Clubs can name five loanees from English clubs in a matchday 16 plus any number from foreign teams, including those from Scotland. There is no limit on the overall total of loan players a club can have at any one time. Romford-born Shelvey was a debut scorer for the Seasiders as they beat Bristol City 5-0 on Saturday.
