QPR v West Brom Betting Preview
QPR v West Brom Betting Preview
Friday, 2nd Dec 2011 20:03 by LFW Pundits

The boys are back to look ahead to QPR’s home match with West Brom and scout around for any value elsewhere in the weekend market.

A blank week last time out for Andy moves him back to £239.25 in debt, Brian continued his recent recovery a £9.35 profit on the week which moves him to £17.89 for the season. The pro was right to tip more than 2.5 goals at Norwich, but wrong to place his faith in Armand Traore to open his QPR account.

The Baggies head to town and I think we can get our second home win of the season. Shane Long will be a threat if he shakes off his groin injury and I can see both sides scoring as neither can defend very well. However I am going for Jamie Mackie to score first as he has been wonderful since his return and deserves a goal and is 19/2 to open the scoring. I will also go for a 3-2 win to us at 33/1

On Sunday we find out who has a bye into the FA Cup fourth round by drawing us which means round two takes place this weekend. Wrexham at Brentford is a potential shock and the 11/2 on offer is worth taking.

The Tingle creek takes place at Sandown and sizing Europe can take the honours but he is a short price. The champion chase winner was caught close home at Down Royal last month but can get into the winners enclosure this time round. If you fancy something a bigger odds Aintree hosts the Betfred Becher Chase and Hello Bud is available at 8/1. He won this last year over the National Fences and can repeat his efforts.

The UK Snooker Championship takes place in York . The format has been criticised by John Higgins as it has been cut to the best of 11 from 17 until the semi finals which gives it a more of a “premier league” feel. As Ronnie O’Sullivan has just won this title I will have a tenner on him to triumph in York.

Finally I invented a new version of cricket this week. The only way you can get out is by LBW, Stumped or bowled. Where’s the catch I hear you ask.

Enjoy the game.

A shorter preview this week as the Hillman household bravely fights the against the tide of man flu. Back to normality on the betting front, as a blank last week. It would see that the LFW betting curse took a while to kick in, but even Robin Van Persie can only resist the astonishing power of LFW for so long. My accumulator finally bought the farm, as practically every team suffered from a ridiculous Champions League hangover and failed to come in.

This week, and home against West Brom. It's not a game that we should win, but it's definitely a game we can win. Unfortunately, the odds are little better than evens for that to happen. Instead, I'm going to go for HT/FT Draw/QPR, at 5/1 with Untbet.

in terms of first goal scorer, Bodog have a fantastic promotion running throughout December - if your first goal scorer scores anytime during the game, they will pay out on anytime goalscorer odds! so with that in mind, I'm backing Helguson to score first at 7/1, with 2/1 anytime odds in the background. I'm also going to stick with RVP for one more week, away at Wigan. with Bodog, own goals don't count as first goalscorer, and the bet is void if they don't play.

Finally, my accumulator, and a six fold - Man City, Tottenham, Rangers, Celtic, Barcelona and Real Madrid - £10 pays out £74.38 (inc. stake) with Victor Chandler.

For The Weekend:

QPR vs WBA - HT/FT Draw/QPR - £10 @ 5/1 (Unibet)

Helguson to score first - £10 @ 7/1 (Bodog)

Robin Van Persie to score first - £10 @ 11/4 (Bodog)

Accumulator: Man City, Tottenham, Rangers, Celtic, Barcelona and Real Madrid - £10 @ 13/2 (Victor Chandler)

The Pro

Professional odds compiler Owen Goulding offers his opinion on the weekend’s sporting action.

Crystal Palace’s monumental effort at Old Trafford on Wednesday night brought them a deserved League Cup semi final, but bizarrely they’re now playing on Friday night against derby just 48 hours later. That makes a Derby result the bet of the week as they look to take advantage – Palace looked out on their feet at the end of extra time on Wednesday and Patrick McCarthy and Anthony Gardner at centr back look especially vulnerable to the rigours of this demanding week. At Loftus Road, with West Brom back to full strength, a tight affair lays in store with plenty of nervous around.

Bet of week - Derby 13/8 Draw No Bet (money back if Draw) v Palace with Betfred.

QPR v West Brom - Recommend a bet on the draw 5/2 with Pinnacle seems too big for evenly matched sides.
