Happy Xmas From The Ugly Inside
Happy Xmas From The Ugly Inside

Christmas Greetings from Southamptons oldest running fanzine.

Amazingly this is the 24th Christmas greetings from The Ugly Inside, for those that are perhaps too young to remember the Ugly Inside started as a paper fanzine in April 1988 before changing to the web based version in July 2000.

Over that time we have seen some big changes at the Club, frighteningly some of our current squad were not even born when we started out and even senior statesman Kelvin Davies would still have been a few years off leaving school.

Hopefully 2012 will bring more success for the football cllub and it will continue to make progress and make it back to the premier league after a seven year absence come the end of the season.

From a personal point of view hopefully The Ugly will continue to flourish and like the football club itself, having been through turbulent times, it makes it all the sweeter when better times are around, Im proud to say that nearly a quarter of a century after starting the fanzine, it still continues to do what we first intended and thats to give Saints supporters a view of the football club that they dont get from official sources, sometimes irreverent, sometimes funny and hopefully factual, but more importantly, give the supporters the opportunity to express their own opinions with censorship.

That is why we allow a lot more leeway that other sites on what is put on the messageboard, i thinkl its very important that supporters have the chance to have their say, even if it doesnt coincide with my own point of view, freedom of speech is something that TUI holds dear and I truly believe that the variety of views we have amongst our members is why we continue to flourish almost a quarter of a century on.

All that remains to do is wish you all and your families a Happy Christmas and say thanks for logging on and thanks for contributing.
