Swans New Year Game Falls To The Weather

Home >Story Index> Plymouth Game Postponed

The game was unsurprisignly called off at 1pm today after local referee Ceri Richards took 30 minutes to deem the pitch unplayable for tomorrow The Plymouth team were due to set off from Devon tonight and in an amazing display of foresight the club decided that an early inspection was in order. League leaders Plymouth were expected to bring a fair sized travelling support to boost a gate that traditionally is higher than other games and this would have given Petty some badly needed income Overnight temperatures in Swansea could drop as low as minus 6 degrees and with the magical disappearance of the pitch cover (any answers here from SCFC?) there was no chance that the pitch would be ready for the scheduled 1pm kick-off.
