How You Can Help Save Swansea City FC

Home >Story Index> How You Can Help The Future Of This Club

No-one knows how much in debt this football club is. One thing that we do know is that all the debts have been accrued by the ownership of Tony Petty. We are told that, on the fateful day at the beginning of October when Petty took charge, the club was solvent. Well, nil balance anyway, bar of course the £800k debt which was subsequently bought by Mel Nurse. Every penny that the club owes are the result of the way that Petty has managed the club. This of course begs the question of how accurate his figures are but I suspect that the loss is much higher than any figure he has previously quoted on what we lose a year.
If the stories are right, and we have no reason to doubt them, Petty plans to put our great club into liquidation next Thursday (10th January) The people waiting to save the club need to be in a position to act immediately to satisfy those that need satisfying that we have a future worthy of the name.
As we said, they have no idea what state the club's finances are in but take enough guesses with the bouncing and stopping of cheques and the low gates of recent games and you have a pretty decent idea.
The time is not to sit back and think "someone will save us", we all have a part to play. As we said at the top of the page, it does not matter whether you have £5 or £500,000, every little will help.
But how do you help? Well, that bit is simple. If you have a large investment that you would like to pledge to the cause then you can contact, in the strictest confidence, the Mel Nurse consortium by clicking here. They will then contact you to discuss the possibilities. By contacting them, you are not committing to anything, they just want to hear from you and speak to you. If you decide after speaking to them that you do not want to part with your money, that is your right as an individual. No blame will be attached to your decision.
If however, you would like to part with a smaller investment, then the Supporter's Trust is your avenue. All funds into the trust will be held in a share fund - if for any reason the takeover of the club is unsuccessful then all monies are returned to the people who donated. You can contact the trust by clicking here or calling their 24 hour answerline on 01792 799082.
If you haven't got any spare cash and just want to show your support for the Swans then add your name to the Save the Swans petition which is on-line by clicking here.
Swansea City survived for 89 years before Petty came along and we managed just fine, bar one period in 1985 when it took Swansea fans to bring us out of the mire. There are fans out there to do this again but they need your help. This is not the time for individual heroes or inflated egos just for Swansea supporters to unite as one behind the football club they all love so dearly.
Now is the time to act to save your club and not think in two months time when we have no club "I wish I had done something"
