Management Committee Put In Place At The Vetch

Home >Story Index> Management Committee In Place

The management committee consists of Martin Burgess, Leigh Dineen, Dave Morgan, Brian Katzen, Mel Nurse and Huw Jenkins.
The club have made the point that four of the management committee are season ticket holders at the Vetch.
This is not the board of the football club but we understand that all names above will make up the board with the exception of Martin Burgess who in all likelihood will be chief executive.
The reason for no board at the moment is that Brian Katzen is out of the country and unable to sign any papers regards the board make up but he is due in Swansea within a fortnight and the formal board will be announced then.
Don Goss, along with Martin, Dave, Leigh and Huw will take active parts in the day to day running of the club although we understand that Don Goss will just remain an employee of the club and will not serve on the board.

Also high on the fans list of questions for the management committee will be the transfer embargo. With the transfer deadline quickly approaching, fans are asking whether we can expect to see arrivals at the Vetch to strengthen the squad or even the odd departure to follow Nicolas Mazzina out of the Vetch Field door. Our valuable sources tell us that one or two players have caught the eye of some clubs and maybe there is the possibility of movement out as well as in before the March deadline passes.
The committee will also be called on soon to decide the fate of both Colin Addison and Peter Nicholas who see their contracts expire at the end of the season, as do a number of first team players. We also understand that the likes of Nick Cusack and Roger Freestone will be looking to try and secure their Swansea City future in the near future and this will be under discussion although neither of these two players presents an option for the new board on what to do.
Finally the club is taking the next step forward following the four months of horror under Tony Petty and we look forward to welcoming the new board within two weeks.
The future's bright, the future's black and white?
