Swansea face a tough start to 2003 when they take on high flying Bournemouth on New Year's day. Brian Flynn will be buoyed by the release of the club's statement which has stated that he is going nowhere, so it won't be a case of the traditional New Year's saying "out with the old and in with the new" just yet. Not everything looks good for the Swan's boss though, with the news that more names have joined his ever increasing injury list. With Sharp, Reid, Smith, Mumford and top scorer James Thomas all sidelined, he'll certainly have to do some re-shuffling if the Swans are to have any chance against a confident Bournemouth side, who's recent run of form has lifted them to fourth in the league. Cherries manager Sean O'Driscoll has no real injury worries going into the game and will probably stick with the team which suffered a surprise defeat at Oxford on Boxing Day. One small consolation for Swans fans will be the absence of top scorer Alan Connell who has undergone a knee operation which could see him out for the remainder of the season. After a disasterous Christmas period, Flynn's Swans will have to find their form pretty soon and with that in mind, I fancy us for at least a point tomorrow. Let's hope that the players have all made New Year resolutions to "die for the cause" because with only 22 games to go, the battle for survival is really hotting up. Teams and Form Guides
