Striker Kevin Nugent was signed by Brian Flynn in 2003 and 'Nuge' was one of the saviours from that near relegation season. Nugent then went on to score 10 goals the following season.
When Jackett took over as manager he released Nugent at the end of the 2003-04 season, but then surprisingly brought the ex Cardiff man back as Assistant Manager and player one week later.
Last season 35 year old Nugent scored 4 goals before getting injured and didn't figure in the team for the second half of the season, but he did his part on the touchline by working with Kenny as his Number 2. Nugent will most likely only play a handful of games next season, if we get injuries or suspensions to our strikeforce.
