Happy New Year From JackArmy.net

Happy New Year From JackArmy.net

On the football side, 2005 has been a real vintage year. The Swans sealed a glorious promotion on an unforgettable day in Bury back in May and just a few days later we said a tearful farewell to the Vetch Field by lifting the FAW Premier Cup for the first time.

The old place had gone but waiting for us was the brand new home we lovingly still call White Rock and League One football. And it started with a bang until we get to today with the Swans on top of the division and the supporters dreaming of promotion to the Championship.

We have an average support this season of 14,000 and one league game attracted almost 19,500 people. On a Friday night. Incredible times to be a Swans fan and it makes you wonder if 2006 can come anywhere near the heights of 2005.

The answer is most definitely yes. Kenny will wake up tomorrow with the transfer window open and pretty much a full transfer budget left. Not many managers at this level will have that. He has the chance to open the cheque book and purchase the players that will ensure we could open next season at home to Sunderland or even Lee Trundle's beloved Everton. Now how good does that sound?

January is a huge month for us with 8 games, two of which could see us progress in cups and the remainder could see us consolidate at the top. December is a wobble, lets put it behind us and move on.

From the site point of view, we have gone from strength to strength this year. In 2004, more than 14 million page views were recorded on the site, in 2005 that figure rocketed to more than 30 million! Doubly as busy, twice as popular? Over 200,000 page views were recorded on the day after we beat Bury alone and during August we set a record of 3.39 million page views for a month - more than 100,000 per day. It's difficult to call on how many people have visited the site during that period but it will be in excess of one million keeping the site in its status as one of the busiest on the Rivals network.

From me personally I would like to thank all the people that have contributed to the site during the course of the twelve months both through articles and through the message boards. The success of JackArmy.net is based purely on its contributors and your views are always welcomed.

All that remains in this - the 1058th and last page to be added to the site this year - is for me to wish Jacks and site visitors everywhere a Very Happy New Year and here's to more success on the pitch and on the site in 2006.

Happy New Year folks
