Jason Scotland was signed from St Johnstone by Roberto Martinez in the start of June, but he had to wait until July for his work permit application to go through. He played for clubs in his hometown at the start of his career before moving to Scottish club Dundee Utd in 2003, where he made mostly substitute appearances.
St Johnstone snapped him up in 2005 and Scotland scored 42 goals in just 81 games (in Scotland!) - He was also named in the Scottish Division One team of the year last season. He also featured in the 2006 World Cup squad for T&T, but didn't play a game. He became a mini TV star during this time where he featured in some Iron Bru adverts north of the (because of his name)
He seems to be a bit of a character and can also pull of some tricks, so Scotland could become a fans favourite, hopefully he'll be able to adapt to League One football well this season.
