Roberto Aware Of Histon Dangers Wednesday, 31st Dec 2008 15:30 Roberto Martinez has again done his homework as he prepares to take on Histon in the FA Cup The Swansea City manager will lead his side into the FA Cup this weekend with a tie against Histon - already giant killers this season having despatched both Swindon Town and Leeds United. And ever the prepared man, Roberto has done his homework on the non league side and believes that the lack of live TV coverage for the game means that the TV companies believe that there is little chance of an upset. Speaking to the Western Mail, Roberto said “We know that we can’t really be ourselves in these type of games “Last season, that’s what we tried to do, play our own style. “We need to realise that sometimes you need to find a way to win football games, rather than rely on the performance and try and be pretty. “There are certain moments when you need to make sure that you do the ‘ugly’ things in the game. “And the way we are as a football team, that is hard to do. “It’ll be completely different to any game this season “But we’ve watched them two or three times and had plenty of reports, and we’re preparing the same way as we would for any match. We need to make sure we know what we’re going to face, know how we can impose ourselves. “We need to be strong, dominate the game and we’re aware of their dangers. “It is a massive date in the football calendar – and it’s the first time in a long while that we’ve had a bye into the third round. “Previously, we had to work very hard through the earlier rounds to get this far, so we can’t take it lightly. “I was surprised, I must admit, when it wasn’t selected for live coverage,” he said. “In a way, I’m delighted because when the cameras are there, they are looking for the headlines, for the non-league side to create a shock. “Maybe they don’t think there’s much chance of that happening.” Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
