Rodgers On Potential Swansea Exits Friday, 31st Dec 2010 10:19 Brendan Rodgers speaks on the eve of the transfer window opening about potential Liberty Stadium exits The Swansea manager told the Evening Post "I would be surprised if there isn't interest in some of our players because they have done very well. "Would we sell? I can never say never — every player in football has his price. "As much as I would like to keep them all here, it could be a chicken and egg situation where if we want to get the type of player I want in, we may have to generate some money without taking anything away hopefully. "But I would only consider that possibility if it comes, so we will see. "I don't want to break up what we've got, I want to add," he continued. "But if we need real quality in a certain area, that will cost money and we may have to look at it. I don't need to bring in a lot of players and there would be no point just bringing anyone in. That's not what I want. "I want players who can make a difference, and unfortunately they cost money. "If you haven't got money you have to try to find another way to get that player in. I would love £1.5 million or £2 million to go and get a target who would make a difference for us, but if we can't do it we will carry on working with a group who have been excellent for us. "We have had one or two inquiries, from both here and in Spain, about Gorka," he revealed. "That's something I will discuss with him and see if we can take forward. "There's no doubt we need to create some space — the squad is much bigger than I want it to be at the moment. "But whether other players will go depends on whether clubs come in for them, so we will have to see what happens over the next month. We've got guys like Jordi Lopez, Cedric van der Gun and Shefki Kuqi who are terrific professionals but are at stages in their careers where they want to be playing. "We have been fantastic this season and it's been difficult for them as senior players to be on the outside. "There's no doubt that if the right possibility comes up for them, we will look at it."
