The loan Rangers return, but for how long?
The loan Rangers return, but for how long?

Lee Camp, Zesh Rehman and Adam Bolder have all returned to QPR at the end of their respective loan spells however it is unclear how long it will be before they are on the way out again.

There were some familiar faces in the South Africa Road stand at the Burnley game on Saturday with Zesh Rehman and Lee Camp both back from their respective loan spells at Blackpool and Nottingham Forest. They have since been joined by Adam Bolder who played 11 games with League One side Millwall.

Paulo Sousa has apparently stressed to the players that everybody starts with a clean slate with him but it is unlikely any of these players will remain at Loftus Road in the long term.

Despite the change of manager at Nottingham Forest, and Paul Smith’s spectacular return to the side and to form at Manchester City on Saturday, Camp could still complete a move to Forest with new manager Billy Davies apparently willing to do a deal. Davies’ appointment had appeared to scupper the hopes of a deal as he was the manager that dropped Camp and sold him to QPR at Derby County however there is no problem between the pair.

There are other clubs monitoring the situation and if Rangers are willing to play ball over a transfer fee he should be on his way this transfer window. Whatever the reason, and there is much speculation, Camp has little hope of a future at Loftus Road despite signing a four and a half year contract extension in February. He played 15 times for Forest, conceding 18 goals and saving last minute point winning penalties at Derby and Bristol City.

Rehman has spoken to Vital Football this week about his time at Bloomfield Road and expressed his disappointment that he did not get more time on the pitch during his time there - he made just four substitute appearances.

Rehman said: “I went to Blackpool as part of the deal but had already spoken to Simon Grayson before the whole transfer saga. I decided to join Blackpool ahead of two other championship clubs and one SPL club in the summer as I was told by the manager I would play regular first team football. For whatever reason I did not get the opportunity to show the fans what I could do, which was very disappointing. It was frustrating watching and not really getting a chance against teams that I have played against in the past.

“At the moment I am back at QPR and have spoke to the manager Paulo Sousa since returning, he told me it's a clean slate and a fresh start so hopefully I can show him what I'm capable of. I have not lost faith in my ability and believe I am good enough to play in the current side, however with my contract up in the summer I will have a decision to make. All I want to do is play football and if that's with QPR then great.”

Rehman’s current QPR deal expires at the end of this season and it will require a spectacular turn around for him to even be given an extension and chance to stay at QPR. MK Dons and Plymouth were both linked with the player when he joined Blackpool during the summer.

Bolder is another whose contract expires in the summer and Millwall manager Kenny Jackett has expressed a desire to see him return to the club as soon as possible.

Jackett told the South London Press: “"Sousa wants to have a look at him for a week or so. I have been really pleased with Bolder and would be interested in bringing him back but it depends on his parent club. We shall see what happens in the next couple of weeks."

The only remaining squad member currently out on loan is Angelo Balanta who scored the fifth goal of his spell at Wycombe against Bury on Saturday and has extended his deal at Adams Park until February 14.
