Roberts unsure but Nisbet wants Swansea City move Monday, 30th Aug 2021 13:37 by David Cornish Connor Roberts is unsure about moving away from Swansea despite the fact he is in the last year of his contract. Five million pound rated Roberts is seen as an ideal solution for Sean Dyche who has long been admirer of the athletic Swansea academy graduate. His Burnley side have had a stuttering but traditional start to their premier league campaign. Any move for Roberts would see his salary dramatically increase at Turf Moor. However, Roberts has long been a Swansea player, his boyhood club and the team he has supported for life is not 100% sure of this move. It would mean leaving his entire family in Wales, his support network and his close friends. Although Burnley are an established premier league club he is also aware of the fate that met Olly McBurnnie who is now back in the championship with Sheffield United, albeit on a massive salary. Twenty four year old Kevin Nisbet on the other hand is highly rated by Swansea sporting director Mark Allen whose track record in football is held in very high regard. His contacts north of the border are well known and a signing like Nisbet has come straight from his knowledgable contacts. There are numerous problems with this move. He has three more years left on his current Hibernian contract, plus the payments the swans would offer would be lengthy. Nisbet has been finding the net for the last three seasons and is also likely to be on numerous other clubs list. Celtic have been cited this afternoon as exceptionally keen to sign the ex Dunfermline forward. More as we get it.
