United leading man praises the Bulls for their handling of the postponement on Saturday.

In Yorkshire, if we give praise to outsiders then it is most definitely given grudgingly!

Leeds United's Chief Operating Officer Shaun Harvey has today paid glowing tribute to Hereford United, for the way in which they called Saturday's game off.

Apparently it was a bit nesh in the south-west last Friday and the Bulls did the decent thing and warned Leeds that the game might not go ahead.

In Harvey's eyes, Hereford deserved "credit" for the way they handled things and were "professional" in their attitude, so that Leeds could keep their fans posted, with Harvey placing the emphasis on Yorkshire Radio being the preferred method of media!

Harvey also had a dig at Doncaster Rovers, comparing the Bull's professionalism to the "farce" over last years abruptly cancelled game at the Keepmoat Stadium - when thousands of Leeds fans were en-route to south Yorkshire.

Hereford do not have undersoil heating or frost covers, however Mr Harvey was quick to point out that Leeds had trained at an "unnamed Premiership club" on Friday and there was some doubt whether or not their game would go ahead.

The re-arranged Edgar Street clash will take place on Tuesday February 17th with a 19.45 kick-off. Fans with tickets for the original have been told their tickets are valid for the rearranged match and I believe refunds are available for those who can't make the rearranged date. See www.leedsunited.com for further details.

In the meantime, here are SIX other fantastic facts about Hereford!

1- Ronnie Radford. Admit it, it eases the pain of Histon to watch over and over again Radford's "rocket" equaliser in the FA Cup 3rd round in Feb 1972, when the non-league Bull's dumped Newcastle and that ugly-cretin Supermac out of the FA Cup. The goal is shown nearly as much as Montgomery's jammy-save on the '73 final.

2- Bulmers Cider is brewed there!

3- As well as Bulmers, another major employer down there are Sun Valley Foods - the chicken processing people.

4- The SAS were based there for many years, "who dares wins - Rodders" and all that.

5- There is a bitter-dispute with Oxford as to where Nell Gwynne was born. Hereford claim that the "actress" and notorious "bit-on-the-side" of King Charles II was born in their city.

6- Although Hereford does not have a university, if you want to become a Blacksmith (a trade surely which will be demand in these difficult times) then you can learn to become one at Hereford's "National School of Blacksmithing" which boasts to be Europes biggest.
