'kin give it up Nelly, it's what he is in Court for, for a Judicial process to either condemn or clear him. You're also at risk of jeopordising the case so best shut up. And suggesting DaveB or anyone else is a kiddie fiddler because they dont follow your logic is not just stoopid but is also inviting a heavy smack in the chops so be careful.

it was my turn yesterday

wonder who the finger will point at tomorrow

ive always liked rolf harris and i hope he's innocent but if he's not i hope he burns

I think Nelly and Dave are both right. I'm assuming the spirit of Dave's message is that, like all folks, we want to believe the best in people, particularly the ones we grew up admiring or being entertained by. Perhaps Nelly took it too literally, but in a literal sense he is also on the right lines.

Same formula as in:
[insert charge] + good lawyer = "Not guilty".

No Dave it's ridiculous to say you hope somebody who is charged with 12 cases of indecent assault on girls under 15, including a 7 year old, walks free just because you've "always liked him".

Either you're 100% sure Rolf Harris is innocent of the charges or you're OK with nonces abusing little girls...Which is it?

I've no idea if he is innocent or not, i have none of the facts of the case I just hope he didn't do it and I hope he is cleared as he's someone i respect. If he did do it then he'll deserve all he gets.

To turn that into me suggesting abusing 7 years olds is ok is laughable

It's hard enough to prove indecent assault or rape when the evidence is of recent alleged offences. When 20 or 30 years have passed you have to wonder whether the evidence can ever be strong enough to convict. And that isn't specific to the recent high profile cases.

FWIW I think these trials of Bill Roache and DLT have been a complete waste of taxpayer's money. How the CPS ever bought these cases to court on the flimsiest of evidence is beyond me.

the problem is that all theses cases involve things that happend 30 40 yrs ago
also a diffrent time where there was totally a diffrent attude towards women.
its a wonder that a lot more pop stars from that era have not been accussed.
the only one they caught was gltter but with savile there is a lot more evidence so i think he would have been found guilty he practcly admited on tv at one point

The two rules of natural justice -

nemo iudex in causa sua - the right to an unbiased tribunal
audi alteram partem - the right to a fair hearing

The second rule above basically means that you have the right to hear what is said against you, and the subsequent right to respond to it. If you are dead then you obviously cannot respond to what has been said against you, which in turn is a breach of natural justice, which in turn would mean any judgement is invalid........so in theory the press should not be saying Saville is guilty of anything!

Not saying I don't think he is guilty, but I think the press should not be allowed to sensationalise all this sh!t, and if they do they should be liable to massive fines
