Ramsey is almost the perfect midfielder. But as someone alluded to already, he tries to do too much sometimes. Especially for Wales. Too many Hollywood passes attempted today but he still had a good game, and to be fair he ran himself into the ground today. |
For me, I find him utterly infuriating as he tries to do too much...
sterling, Kane and Stones up there with him as overrated, but that's because their English - & the media overhype
For me, I don't think Ramsey is a patch on Wiltshire, he just has the misfortune of being bow legged and prone to injury |  |

Ramsey really could have it all. Two footed, very hard worker, scores goals, creates, good touch, can go past a man, decent tackler, even not bad in the air.
Just needs to rein it in a bit for Wales and he would be an absolute God. |  |

Bonkers.
If he actually played as part of a team rather than attempting to do everything or only pass to Bale then Wales would have been much better off yesterday. I lost count of the amount of times young Jazz was in his own time zone and in a decent position but he refused to pass to him instead of choosing some needlessly complicated and pointless option. It's as if he seeks the most difficult option with little regard for which one is actually the best one.
The comment about him being an extreme form player is probably spot on. At his best he's world class. When he's off form he's bordering on a liability. |  |

Some fans are very excitable, 1 or 2 good games and they think a player is a world beater, 1 or 2 bad games and he is a terrible player.
Ramsey imo is a very consistent player rarely having a bad game, between 6 & 8 out of 10 most weeks, Shelvey is a real liability when he is off form, likely to get booked, gives silly fouls away, doesn't track back, gives the ball away needlessly etc etc, Shelvey can be anything between 3 and 7 out of 10 most weeks.
Shelvey has started the season well, Ramsey hasn't, if somebody said Shelvey has been better than Ramsey for the first month of the season I would agree, but Shelvey is in no way a better football player than Ramsey, things can change, Ramsey could go backwards and Shelvey stay at this early season level for the rest of his career but taking everything into account up to date Ramsey is better than Shelvey. | |

That is because England are so desperate for success that the minute any player shows some talent, they are automatically built up and built up, far more than a foreign player of a similar age playing in the premier league in the same position would be.
The reality of course is that they have no world class players, least of all "Wazza" who has numerous goals against San Marino and teams of that ilk amongst his collection. | | | |

England would do so much better in tournaments if they got a pragmatic manager in who doesn't try to build around injury prone, fancy dan players and got some solid, unfashionable blokes who work hard and play every single weak.
