I am not sure if we are being told the whole story and we have all the facts, but wrong doing needs to be investigated, victims need to be supported and have confidence in the process and investigation, and nobody, whoever they are should be above the law. That said, alleged offenders also have rights, they should be told the exact nature of their alleged act(s) so they can defend themselves from potential malicious allegations. These rights exist in criminal law and I believe similar principles should apply in similar processes. I am not Alex Salmon’s biggest fan, but I would have thought he has a right to know what acts he’s being accused of and the evidence. Seems wrong to me that the Scottish Govt are going to publish the details and outcome when he hasn’t seen the evidence.

The process seems to be similar in that he’s unable to know details of the allegations made against him.
I've no time for him at all I've always found him to be pompous, but I fail to see how any system can be "fair" when the person who is the alleged perpetrator is unable to know what he or she is accused of?

The Scottish Government have lost their legal case against Salmond. The Scottish Government now have to pick up his legal bill with total costs estimated at £500k. His case was crowd funded so he is giving the money raised via crowd funding to good causes. Salmond is calling for a senior Civil Servant to resign, but Sturgeon doesn’t see it that way. Unbelievable how senior staff can get things like this wrong.
There is still a police investigation on going.

And as always there will always be the question of "what if" that sticks. His name will have been tarnished.
