The National Theatre are streaming filmed versions of popular performances. I think this is on for another day or so before they put the next one up. Updated to Brighton 1963 from an old Italian commedia dell’arte play.
Watched it last night on the Youtube telly app. Very funny (give it half an hour to warm up) and James Corden is superb ( never thought I’d say that...)

Thanks for the recommendation, as you said it's slow to start but I've laughed out loud after that, some great acting performances.
The decrepit waiter was brilliant, as was the public school toff. Some really funny dialogue too. Corden’s interaction with the audience was priceless - the improvised sandwich bit was hilarious. I won’t spoil it...
Great entertainment for bugger all.

Turned off after 25 minutes. I thought it was dreadful and amateurish.
Perhaps I should have stuck it out for a bit longer and of course everything is subjective, good to see that others really enjoyed it.
Get it back on, it started getting funny when they got to Brighton. I only stayed with it because Warwick had alreà dy mentioned about the early part being slow.

Might give it another try then. At least I can fast forward through the first 25 minutes.

It’s definitely worth a second look - it does get very funny as it goes on. Bear in mind it’s partly a pisstake of period farces (might explain the ‘amateurish’ bit... ).
