Just a few weeks after ruling out bringing in VAR in the Championship, the EFL is now planning to bring the bastard technology in after all

VAR was meant to quickly and efficiently review, analyse and decide on refereeing errors.

It was said to only review clear and obvious errors.

It has not been implemented as such.

The idiot referee and the two idiot assistant referees are backed up or kept in check by the technology - however there is another panel of three idiots looking over the visuals that VAR gives and they then make a decision after many minutes and then they ask the referee who made the decision in the first place to go to a TV screen to see if he was wrong or not, so in effect the decision is still made by the referee on the pitch, by which time some of the crowd have gone for a pee, some have purchased a pukka pie they didnt want and the others are all looking at where they are currently in the league table on their phones.

The passion of the moment passes whether its a goal, its disallowed, its a penalty or not, or its a red card or otherwise !!!!

Technology has the capabilities to be instantaneous these days. Its not difficult. Having three more idiots up there overlooking , increases the chances of human error as opposed to eradicating it.

Its blatantly obvious if someone is offside. Tennis had hawkeye for line calls - decades ago. So an offside is easily resolved immediately.

If VAR was simply automated and instant - no issues with that, but it is not. And clear and obvious error, well a toe nail offside or a missed foul thirty seconds earlier - clearly they are not clear and obvious errors.

The way VAR operates now it should be binned worldwide.

it has the capabilities to be a succesful, quick and useful addition to the game.

Currently the worldwide verdict of fans, players and coaches alike is that VAR is an Ass !!

However, the officious rule makers like it as it gives them all the power and they become the game when they truly are not !!!

If I and many others can see this - why cant those in supposedly higher places see this.

As others have said, VAR in its current guise, can do one...

But it really isnt that hard to implement it correctly - surely ???

Administrators ruining the game for their own self importance....
