Our owners are up by approximately £60mill. Largely thanks to selling what ever talent was here when they bought the club.

They have no interest in trying to make Saints a successful club, there model is not aimed at winning stuff. Its purely about buying young players and making some money. We are just a vessel for young players to get a bit of game time then move on.

An ownership that took us from being a lower / midtable Premier league side to now 19th in the Championship with all our parachute payments.

12 points last season.

Utterly terrible recruitment.

What you fail to point out is there is equally as much chance that we could get better owners if these clowns put us up for sale.

You keep slagging off the fans whilst sticking up for an ownership thats overseen 5 league wins in 52 games.

On what do you base that our owners are up by £60 million, if it is just on transfer fees alone then you have not factored in agents fees, signing on fees etc.

If our owners are in it for profit only, then they are not going to do that in the Championship or League One, they need to be in the top flight to do that, as someone else has pointed out.

For their strategy to work we have to be a successful club

We have not seen their true strategy yet and we have not had the chance to hang on to any of the players that they have signed, arguably if we had stayed up last year we would still have Fernandes and Dibling for instance.

The model you suggest they are employing is the model that Southampton Football Club has been using for 60 years since Ted Bates, buy young players, nurture them, make some money and then move on repeat again.

Martin Chivers in the 60's, Mike Channon in the 70's, Steve Williams in the early 80's, the Wallace Brothers in the late 80's early 90's and of course Alan Shearer the last 60 years this is how we have competed,.

If there strategy is to make money and run, then why are they actually putting it back into the club, they spent about £50 million or so this summer, they could have pocketed that, flogged off a few more and took their money broke even and run.

You have completely missed the point of the article, I actually pointed these out as there nmistakes,

So if they put the club up for sale who would actually but it, Sheffield Wednesday who are being flogged off cheaply have only two and one of them is Mike Ashley and ask Newcastle fans what they think of him.

I have not slagged off the fans for anything other than sitting back and doing nothing if that is what they believe.

Did you turn up at the Ted Bates Statue at 2pm last week ?

I base that on the transfer fees. The running costs are covered by the big fat premiership payments. Currently they are £60 mill up. So not investing in the team.

You keep harking back to the good old days when saints would buy an Andy Townsend from Weymouth and thats the model the current owners are following. But its not because saints had quality several top notch experienced pros for him to learn from.

SR's approach is quantity not quality with the hope that one might make it. Look at the premiership season we just had. They bought 25 players with only 3 of them good enough.

They spent 50mill speculating again think they will sell one of the players for big money. If they wanted success they would have bought a Kieffer Moore at 3mill rather the Downes at 7mill. If we SR really wanted to succeed, one of the other clubs in the group would have bought Downes and got him up to speed, then if he was good enough saints would have bought him.

Yes I did, and there was no fuc#er there!!

Imo we are an attractive proposition, nice stadium bought and paid for.
Top training facilities.
Fairly large fan base.

Just need owners that understand . First and foremost you get the player recruitment right for the mens first team that will give you a chance to win football matches ....at least some of the time!!

All this tit for tat is silly
These owners are useless that’s the fact
Whatever their supposed strategy whoever is making decisions. recruiting, employing staff, managers is totally incompetent simple as that
They need to hire a proven manager to get the best out of a poor squad and back that manager in January with a striker and a keeper if not more

Look at similar sized clubs like Brentford... Brighton... Palace... Bournemouth even. All doing really well over a period of time. All the above have good owners with good people in place who know how to recruit & run a club.

That is where we are failing miserably - and will continue to do so under Sport Republic.

Brentford and Bournemouth similar sized clubs?
As clubs they are smaller than us, and that is the issue, they are most definitely (currently) more successful than us and that is entirely due to the ownership and club management/recruitment and one would think scouting team (do we have one of those other than agents videos)

Since Sport Republic took over we have gone from a bottom half Premier League club looking over our shoulder at relegation to a bottom half Championship club looking over our shoulder at relegation.

They have employed 6 cheap managers with only 1 being any good and that was in The Championship.
A win today and Eckert will become the 7th cheap manager.

Maybe going into administration and dropping down a league to get rid of these clowns wouldn’t be a bad thing.
I was with a Sheffield Wednesday fan yesterday and he, like the others, is over the moon with the club at the moment.

I was at The Ted Bates Statue last Saturday after travelling 100 miles to do so.
I won’t be doing that again.

WE MARCH ON

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.
