The Eckert effect!
Just been listening to SRL on Tsport who was on primarily to talk Scouse failure obviously, but said a lot about Tonda and how pleased he has bonded the whole city and got on with the job in hand
Praise also given for the owners for not sacking him but also how we would possibly have struggled had we gone up as last time |

I've just watched it on the highlights probably 3 or 4 times now, and who'd be a ref!
VAR would probably have told him to review on the monitor and passed the buck!

What got me was the number that left when our 3rd went in with still at least 20 mins still to go. As you say, that is sh1t support when away from home, and hardly any left to acknowledge the players at the end.
Ok, they lost, but they were playing one of the top teams still unbeaten at home! |

Ah, the good old black brick! Never went down in the deep end but did before it dropped from the 6' (ish) to the 16' 6". Also remember having to swim the width in our pyjamas for some reason
But have just found this pic from the distant past. I'm sure the top board was about the 10m mark

Correct on those stats, but generally the top 2 boards weren't always open. Who on earth would want to jump off a 10m board for crying out loud!
I also learnt to swim there as did 1000's of kids
In my working days I had reason to walk across that curved ceiling in the void when the place was being rebounded to "Centre 2000" back in the late 80's
Picture that pool with no water in it and fully scaffolded up to that ceiling so it can be painted! Daunting |

That's ridiculous. I thought it was a red, though if VAR had been involved it may have been chalked off, but could have won the game if he'd stayed on? What was it, 4 or 5 mins from the end?
If Haverz and others had taken their chances they would have won by a canter! Blame them. To55er

Apparently they didn't practice penalties from what they said on the radio this morning.
Yet again someone tries to tippy happy walk that last penalties in to the net and fund it up

He comes across as a decent, honest, and just as importantly, a loyal type of guy when you think of all the sh1t he has been through when the club could have just kicked him out.
I think he will pay back that loyalty proving he doesn't have a greedy ar5hole of an agent
But also, with all this so called interest from the "bigger" clubs, he hasn't yet proved himself at the top level yet where the pressure will be a lot greater
So get him signed up now for a further 2-3 years and see how he does next season in the Prem cos he's bound to get us there! |
