Anyone use this cafe on Matchday? Proper decent cooked breakfast, good looking staff and Rangers pictures on walls. Irish fella that runs it is a nice chap. Just had a full Irish and it was spot on. If you're not pie and mashing it, use this cafe!!

Yes used it many times in the past almost like walking back into the '50s . Great food tremendous value . Goldhawk Rd pie & mash shop has got very expensive these days . Ruth's pie & mash shop in Portobello Rd ( Cockneys ) is much better.

Yeah Ruth's is pretty good.

If I treat myself to a cooked breakfast before a game it's usually the Station Caff up in Kensal Rise

Its fine now free wifi etc, but I liked it when it was dingier (pre-Paddy portions) and you went downstairs to the loo to be confonted by a halfway outside the loo which looked like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre containing Dr Frankenstein's assistant Igor slicing meat for the Ham, Egg & Chips with a mildy maniacal expression on his face - no problem going to the toilet after seeing that each time!

I went into zippys a few weeks ago for the first time in about 30 years.

Hasn't changed a bit, except for the food which is now awful

One of my fondest memories of childhood is all the greasy spoon cafes that used to be around that area (and other parts of London) with Pepsi or Coke signs outside.

Churchfield Cafe on Churchfield Rd in Acton. Good food and run by QPR fan.

It's getting harder and harder to find good places these days though, they tend to either serve sh*t food or specialise in a thousand types of coffee and give you a little italian biscuit.

Highly recommend the Colombian cafe on Shepherd's Bush Green (turn right out the station, just before The Defector's Weld) for a pre-match feast.

Great little place, the shop is called All-in-one and looks like a hairdressers (it in fact is a hairdressers, nail salon, internet cafe, international money transfer service, DVD rental, Latin supermarket and off-licence) but through the back is a tiny little Colombian cafe/restaurant that they call Donde Carlitos doing great food.

Feels like walking into a lunch place on a back street of Bogota, salsa music, lovely service and a few Colombian families squeezed in.

£10 for a 'Bandeja Paisa' (basically Colombian equivalent of a fry-up) probably more than you'd usually pay for a pre-match meal but is absolutely HUGE - you won't need to eat for three days, could share one between two or three people to be fair. And there are other things you can eat that are cheaper but will also leave you stuffed! And wash it down with a few light Colombian lagers, fully-licensed.

Discovered it about a year ago and will make it as regular a haunt as possible!
(No I'm not being paid to do their PR...)

Will def give that a go, cheers for the tip! It does indeed look like a haridressers so I've never even looked in.

Went to a Colombian restaurant in Elephant & Castle a few years ago and realised then how good (and filling!) Colombian food can be!

been going to have colombian breakfast (this is the point when most people raise their eye brows) for years, the brixton village has loads of good grub joints and one of them is the colombian. I also recommend honest burger if youre ever in the area.

Thumbs up for CafeRest.

Kind Solomons does decent kebabs - real meat in real bread with a great yoghurt sauce [or is it tahini?]
Only problem is it drips out. Bought one on the way to a game once, then realised I'd dripped yoghurt all down the back of the guy in the row in front. Managed to wipe it off without him noticing!

That reminds me of the time I dropped the whole filling of a mince beef and onion pie down the back of the blokes beige coat sat in front of me in the lower loft a few seasons back.

I laughed so much I almost gave myself a hernia
