what do qpr plan for? 16:13 - May 28 with 515 viewsthemodfather

we have seen how hard staying up can be and mid table would be dreamland....
do qpr stay firm to warren farm and new ground, build the team in stages, sensibly and maybe yo-yo ( do a wba a promotion every other year and be happy) or try and establish asap a team strong enough, motivated enough and balanced enough to stay up and maybe chase the league cup??
of course there's no guarantee of any promotion but parachute money allows to maintain a good squad.
charlton were solid, top 8 and seemed ok, suddenly they fell down the trap door and have been in the wilderness for a decade?
stoke went up and slowly bought well, kicked hell out of anything that moved and got into europe....palace surely over achieved and did so well to turn it around and had a great run at the "run in"...what's our model, if any?

I think we should spend very little. Get our finances into better shape. Continue to progress Warren Farm, Training Academy, New Stadium.

Agree a footballing style and stick to it regardless of who manages / coaches (ie: Swansea's strategy). Bring on younger players with energy and something to prove.

Probably get relegated. In which case we should aim to finish 3rd. Get into the Play-Offs and return to Wembley and do the promotion malarky all over again!!!!!!!!!!

IMO staying the premier league should be priority. The truth is that with the money from TV it is much easier just to go buy the best young talent (15-19) and then train them up, rather then bring them in when they are really young when it is very difficult to know.

Look at Fulham they have a really good youth facilities but no really good graduates recently. A part from Southampton nobody really gets the return on these big youth systems. Obviously i would love a local lad to be the next charlie austin, but the chances of it happening are very slim even if we did have a youth system. The truth is, its much easier to go and buy someone like Will Hughes or Ward Prouse for 5-7 million than it is to spend more millions on a youth program. Its the sad fact and i hate it as much as the next man.

Poll: Who will the other play off
