The whole thing is terrifying and I really hope we push back against it. We've appointed a CEO who used to consult on multi-club ownership deals, this always felt inevitable. I just want QPR to be QPR, not some ownership group with multiple clubs and heaven forbid, one where we end up like Strasbourg or Girona or whoever else. I said it recently on the Rosenior thread, we really need to be very wary of stuff like this

What about when we both qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup though? I'd hate us to miss out on that...

| Central Coast Mariners on 16:03 - Jan 12 with 1691 views | KensalT | IIRC Clive wrote something in the summer about us using the British ancestry of some of our Australian contingent to get around the restrictions on number of overseas signings, or something like that (apologies if I've got that wrong). So I can see why we might find it useful to get a foothold in the A-League if we're going to keep going with that recruitment strategy. Although I might be a bit more enthusiastic if some of our young Australians looked capable of holding down a first team place. | | | |

Yes there is a fundamental flaw in the plan isn't there? I.e., the A League is dog chocolate.
| Central Coast Mariners on 16:09 - Jan 12 with 1649 views | HammersmithR | We do seem to have tapped into the Aussie market since Nourry arrived. Perhaps the data is showing value over there? I can’t say I have seen too much of Bennie etc to think we will do well out of them. Maybe the club is shifting away from domestic players to ones from abroad? | | | |

There are a number of athletic young Australian footballers for whom the A League isn't stretching enough. As well as our 3, Portsmouth have Hayden Matthews and Adrian Segecic; Watford have Irakunda. Maybe 1 of them will go on to have a long career at Championship level or above. ATM, the jury's out. I'm not sure CCM, bottom.of the League and in financial difficulties would be the first choice for any investment.

| Central Coast Mariners on 17:07 - Jan 12 with 1489 views | BrianMcCarthy | The main issue here is that we might - might - be looking to kill off a club. That would be completely unacceptable in my view, same as it would be if someone did it to us. If there are good players in Australia, then by all means buy some. No need to be like Chelsea. | |

I think Ruben has a minority stake in Los Angeles FC. To be multi-club ownership there has to be a controlling stake in more than one club. So we're not there, yet!

Many MLS teams get decent crowds these days. LAFC average around 22,000. Here in Vancouver the Whitecaps were over 26,000 (mind you they had an exceptional year.) Best in the league, by far, are Atlanta with almost 49,000 ticket sales per game. [Post edited 13 Jan 6:07]
