This had better be a rumour
at 16:36 11 Apr 2025

There wouldn’t be room, from the way Parsons was singing his praises and the multi club format at the last fans forum you’d have to remove his head from Ankersen’s backside first to make room for the brick. 😂

Very disappointing to hear that, had hoped it might be an option to buy rather than obligation to buy in which case perhaps, just maybe, Spors could intervene and get him back as I am sure he’d destroy a fair few Championship defences next season. Or just do what Athletico Madrid did to us with the agreement we had with them to buy Toby Alderweireld, as soon as Spurs offered more money they just ripped our agreement up and said sue us…

really good article from inews about the club
at 17:21 10 Apr 2025

Thanks for the heads up Block 8, damned good article and absolutely spot on, I will even forgive him the bit about Vestegaard. IMO, the only way that the club can move forward is if SR just p1ss off a ruin another club. I have zero faith in them getting the next managerial appointment right because their record is pretty damned poor so far and leopards don’t suddenly change their spots. SR think they are so clever, the truth is they are doughnuts. Sounds like Parsons is no better than the previous idiot in his job from recent stuff posted on here with Liam Delap in the building at Staplewood and Parsons obstructing the signing not making it happen. The only hope is that Spors turns out to be the new Messiah and can successfully reset the club. That in itself is a monumental task and a huge ask, I live in hope but very little expectation whilst those SR gimberts are still in overall charge of our beloved club.

And you can add Sam Amo-Ameyaw to the list as well. Disgraceful the way such a talented young player was allowed to go out on loan with little prospect of a return it seems…

Ironic if Gill ends up gifting a place to Man City.
If ManUre had managed to have an even worse season than they have done and finished 18th then the last minute change for next season would be a CL place for the Championship winners, double irony, Southampton 😀
ManUre runners up …

Newcastle still have to play Villa away and Arsenal away so I sincerely hope they lose both those games and Villa nick the 5th place CL spot, sadly it will probably give Citeh a CL reprieve. Could well go to the last day which means with the title done & dusted it will give MOTD another opportunity to fu@k about switching between matches for those in contention as the goals go in. So damned irritating but they do it every season…

Spors

Of our managers over the past 15 years Pochettino's tactics were probably the closest to Spors stated preference for the next Saints manager. Very much what Arteta, Slot & Emery do best but this style of play keeps getting mentioned on MOTD this season in connection with other teams as well. Not watched much Championship football this season but I suspect this is a style of play Burnley prefer. Stand to be corrected on that one though...

Top 3 biscuits - update
at 15:10 8 Apr 2025

Sir, you need to check out the M&S biscuit range. They can easily form a revised top 3 for me any day of the week.

1 - M&S Extremely chocolatey milk chocolate coated bourbon creams
2 - M&S Outrageously chocolatey milk chocolate coated custard creams
3 - M&S Outrageously chocolatey dark chocolate coated ginger biscuits

They also do their own Jaffa Cakes that are better than the original McVitie’s ones and in addition to orange they do a lemon & lime option and a peach & passionfruit option.

Grand National, who are you backing?
at 18:59 5 Apr 2025

It was a win for a horse called Nick Rockett at 33/1, I wonder if our Nick had a cheeky tenner on it 😀 I know my mate Nick in Lynmouth had £20 e/w on it so he’s a happy man tonight. He’ll be down the bookies to collect those winnings like a ….

Cocklebreath, your two finished 9th (M/Indo) & 12th (Beauport). With reference to your win as a 10 y/o, when I was the same age my grandmother used to enter a Grand National sweepstake at her pensioners club and had two winners and two places in the previous four years. Year 5 she draws Foinavon out of the sweepstake who was 100/1. She used to save 6d a week for two annual bets, the Boat Race and the National. She used to have a £1 for the National and 5/- for the Boat Race which took 50 weeks to save. My Dad had persuaded her the previous two years to back the same horse at the bookies as she pulled out of the sweepstake but with Fionavon at 100/1 he was telling her it would be a waste of time to back it at the bookies. I remember this debate went on for two days and on the morning of the race it was still going strong. She sloped off to the bookies and put the £1 on it to WIN to teach Dad a lesson. As they watched the race on TV gran was basically staring at the floor thinking what an idiot she’d been as Foinavon was about a fence behind the field. Cue a mass pile up in front of them and the jockey on Fionavon pulled the horse up, surveyed the carnage and changed course and jumped the fence well away from the pile up and rode on home to win unchallenged. Gran nearly had a seizure! In 1967 £100 was a lot of money for a lady that had struggled most of her life to make ends meet. She never won again as she had a life ending cerebral haemorrhage the following year, sat in the same seat, watching the 1968 Grand National. As she hadn’t been feeling well the previous couple of days she didn’t do her usual bet on the day of the race and wasn’t in the pensioners club sweepstake.

Protest March? FFS! 🤬 Perhaps they’d like to swap places with us and have the SR doughnuts we have to put up with running their club, then they’d have something to protest about! Self entitled prats.

Fake tariffs and fake news

Spot on regarding the cost of the Nike products if made in the USA. New Balance actually do make a small range of their seasonal offering in the USA and in fact in the UK as well (up in Flimby, Cumbria). NB tend to market them as premium ‘Made in the USA / Made in the UK’ product ranges. If you look at the cost of the made in the USA range a pair of trainers that would cost around £100 > £120 if made in Vietnam cost £200 > £230. It is even worse for the clothing as the cost differences for sourcing the fabrics made in the USA or UK are higher for clothing than most of the materials used in the footwear production process so a crew or hooded sweatshirt is up to £175 and a t-shirt up to £70!! NB sweats made overseas? £60/£70. Same applies to the ‘Made in the UK’ footwear although the production quality of the UK made shoes is excellent. The evidence is there for the orange idiot to see, all he has to do is look at the NB website… Nike Air will become Nike Hot Air as there will be a lot of angry Americans. Adidas will just love it!

April Fool stuff
at 21:27 1 Apr 2025

That’s a fair point, April fools all year round. Let’s hope they break with tradition with the next managerial appointment!!

Most ridiculous wind up I I have heard today is from a mate in Arizona. Local news reporting that The Roadkill Cafe on Route 66 (that’s a real cafe, not the April fool) who have to motto ‘from your grille to ours’ are going to be told they must serve human roadkill to cannibals after State legistators have upheld an appeal by ancestors of an ancient Red Indian tribe who were cannibals! His neighbours are apoplectic apparently - and it’s still only lunchtime out there…
