Sounds like the sort of player that could be worth a few bob in the future. Chesterfield fans seem to like him, but say he's very raw. If we can temper that a bit, then we'll have made ourselves a profit. This is the type of business we need to do in order to make some cash back. The fee will be £5k or something ridiculous. A drop in the ocean in the grand scheme of things, and he's not gonna be on big money. |

Somebody sat in front of me booed at full time. After the first game of the season. THAT is embarrassing.
Agree with some comments here, there was a lot of promise in the performance and we created some decent chances and had a lot of the ball in promising areas. If people are ready to never come again after one game of a new season in a new division, they need to give their heads a wobble. |

Out of interest I watched Scunthorpe's highlights, keeping an eye out for him. Seemed lost and was out of position most of the time, including getting caught out on the wrong side for the second goal. Was too busy trying to wrestle their player rather than getting goalside. |

If this comes off you've got to assume that O'Connell is off. I'm gonna get a lot of stick for this probably, but I'll take it, I think it's definitely the right time to move him on. His performances recently have been a bit impetuous and his body language and some of the things he's done on the pitch makes it seem like he thinks he's way above the club. Piledriving free kicks over the stand from 40 yards out etc, and a lot of moaning.
If we can move him on and get a good solid defender in the meantime to plug the gap, it'll give us a cash injection to make replacements/improvements elsewhere whilst still having a good player alongside the younger lads at the back. |

You're right that he probably will be mostly involved in the youth setup and that we probably shouldn't expect to see him near the first team for a while, but Baah was signed as a scholar just like this lad so who knows. |

Looks like the advert has been taken down now. Bit of a PR nightmare for the club this - I noticed there was no salary listed, I'd hope they're offering a fair whack for someone to essentially give up their life to serve the club. |

I thought we did alright. Set pieces were poor and we should've worked their keeper more, but the overall style of play and attacking intent was good. O'Keefe had a great game (apart from his blatant dive) and I liked the look of Dorsett. If we play like that all season but gain a little more cutting edge then we'll do well. |

I agree that it's easy to pick out a highlights package to make a player look better than they are, but to be fair to the lad there's a 10 minute video there and it's two leagues above, so it's clear there's a player in there. That's why I said if we can get him fit and firing, cos clearly something has gone wrong and he hasn't been fulfilling that potential.
For me, the ship has sailed for Morley. He seemed to have so much potential at 18 but hasn't kicked on and for me doesn't offer a great deal. |

Watching that video of Kelly, he looks to have everything in the locker that Morley thinks he has, but can actually pull it off. If we can get 200k for Morley, we already have his replacement when he's fit, if we can get him firing. |
