Good rumour this as it fits, but we know it's not gonna happen. There is no way he would buy us, as otherwise he would just be constantly nagged to play for us, even after finishing with Real. Apart from Uncle, no one wants QPR on their footy CV. Now, if one of us won the lottery and started taking the wrong mushrooms, that's different. |

Sky pushes Leeds as Sky Bet is based in Leeds. So, its like looking after your own up north. Its all happening in Leeds you see otherwise, some new Sky CEO shuts it down and moves it elsewhere as it could be anywhere. So, Leeds must be made to look great constantly in ALL ways. So, Leeds lot in Sky feel the need to push Leeds as a happening place as they feel insecure competing with London (which is where it really is all happening). This message translates right across Sky as "push Leeds hard as it helps Sky Bet as they are based in Leeds". And as a result you then get a lot of Leeds fans in Sky and the merry-go-round we have seen for some years now. I have no evidence of this except working in many corporates, when one HQ has to compete with another that happens to be in London, that other one usually poos its pants and doubles down on how great it is (when it isn't) and tries to compete with London as a whole city (stupid idea). It makes little diff, they shut it down anyway and move it. The only time I have not seen this done is Nationwide based in Swindon, who keep shutting down London offices and then reopening them as they have to. When you employ everyone in Swindon and then need new skills, you end up in London anyway. In that company, the Swindon lot actively try to get your fired if you work from London. They love it when the London office is closed. |

Video looks like a LW rather than LB. I am not too bothered about the attacking crosses and dribbles, we have other players for that. Show me way more crunching tackles (there are only four of them in there), last-ditch defending, heading against bigger players, covering other players' mistakes in defence, losing the ball running back and winning it, getting passed by a faster player but recovering to block the cross (Dunne has to do this a lot), not getting caught out with the in-between CB/LB defence-splitting ball (Paal, I am looking at you), blocking crosses, and shouldering the ball out of play. Then as an extra ... Cultured passes out of defence, helping to beat the press with pass and move, passing into the middle between the oppo forwards and splitting the oppo middle by doing it. Balls up the line that actually give our forwards time to control it. And a long diags across the pitch to the other RB or even better RW (Cook does this). Then we are talking about the next Clive Wilson. Otherwise, it's Drewe over again. Nice lad, but not what we need. |

It's cheaper for footballers to actually order Uber's everywhere even for long distances. They can put it as an expense on their Ltd companies, which they all have for their image rights. Its safer, and a great excuse to the boss if it does not turn up. "Boss, Uber let me down and you don't want me driving a fast car like Antonio and you know I always share my ride tracking with you." Driving fast cars, fast boats, drinking large, doing drugs, skiing, and doing everything rich folk do you can do after the career is over. Do it then, as you're not famous anymore, and the sexual partners you're trying to impress/keep will value it more. But then we have to understand they are footballers because they are not the smartest people. |

I am with you. He's definitely Champ material. As others have said, he runs great and then needs to be subbed. Dykes has shown what is not Champ material and we did great to offload him. Celar has not worked out, we need to try again. Our real problem is that we don't have a sub for Frey, and that needs to be fixed for next season. Assuming we survive this one, getting back to squeaky bum moments if this carries on. Stoke is a big game for us and even bigger for them. |
 | Forum Reply | "By far the most challenging season of my career!” at 18:56 17 Mar 2025
I don't think this is anything more than Marti sending a message that he would like to keep some of the players who are out of contract for next season and has probably been told no. Players like Cook and Dunne, he for sure wants to stay. Possibly Paal and Anderson. I bet Norry has thought that Morgan, Dembele and Saito (if he's coming on a perm) all worked out. And does not worry about Madsen and Celar just yet. Therefore, Norry is probably telling Marti that he will have to do more with less next season. And he's probably had to tell certain players this, which, of course, would be upsetting as he wants to keep them. That's why it's been a challenging season from his point of view, and I suspect there are some other things we don't know about. EDB is a complete mystery when sometimes Madsen does not even make the subs bench. Chairs possible doing a porridge situation would have stoked Norry to want to sell him in the summer in case his value goes down. We only recently published the accounts and Norry probably only recently told him after looking at the forecast for next year on the finances this bad news. Rebuilding the squad from the start and being shocked to find this out for sure for Marti, probably upset him greatly. Hence his reaction. This is all guesswork by me, totally made up, but we are coming to the season's end, we have just published the accounts, we know Norry loves getting everything for nothing and manages that way. Marti is not really interested in another season like this, he is ambitious, he wants to manage one of the La Liga clubs once day. He won't settle for mediocre. We shall know more in May me thinks. |

This. Marti changed the tactics in two distinct ways. 1) First, by bringing in Edwards to the middle, this allowed Colback to press high up (as he was not expected to run back as much as we know he's a yard off the Champ pace). Leeds had a lot of possession so, Colback was back a lot anyway, but the point is he did not have to get up and down a lot, whereby he leaves space in behind him which the oppo exploits (like when he gave that pen away). So, Colback is up and Edwards is back. Not all game, but enough. 2) He told the wingers to tuck inside in the middle out of possession. Rather than fill the flanks. This meant the two Leeds midfielders, known for threading balls through and causing the oppo havoc, were unable to find a through-ball as easy as they are used too. This is why in the first half despite all that possession they did little until the obvious goal. The downside to this is sometimes the oppo winger will be 1:1 against our fullbacks and we could get caught out. Which happened a few times and resulted in the second goal. If, I were one of the teams playing Leeds next, I would get this video of our game because clearly, this is how you need to play against Leeds. And teams with better players will punish them way more than we did. Another Tactical master class from Marti, with a QPR team of zero confidence and many injuries. [Post edited 16 Mar 16:25]

 | Forum Reply | Steve Cook... at 15:12 16 Mar 2025
Marti loves Cook (gotta be careful with spelling that), I would be surprised if he was not offered a new contract. Especially as he's scoring goals as well now. Anderson, Colback, and possibly Fox are not going to be renewed (unless the option is on their side). These three are probably out, with Dunne and Paal leaving on their own accord, especially Paal now that Dale has signed. Let's say Saito does not sign, and the other loans go back. This leaves us with backup in positions as so: Nardi > Walsh Vale > Larkeche Cook > ? JSC > Morrison RB > ? Field > ? Varane > ? Smyth > Dembele Dembele > Morgan > Madsen Chair > Kolli Frey > Celar > Lloyd > Kelman We have Santos and EDB, but it's clear Mari wants them out. Possibly even Madsen too. This means, at the very least, we need an RB to replace Dunne, a CD, as all of them always get injured, it seems, and one that can play RB is needed as well. Maybe Tuck can come in for the middle, but that's a stretch. So, we need another midfielder, Hayden on a free and cheaper wages as his contract runs out? Smyth or Dembele can play right side, which allows Morgan to come in if either of them are out, so that's not so bad with Smyth. So, the bare minimum we need next season: RB CD DMC And that's if we keep Cook. If Dunne goes, we probably need two RBs next season. As three will go out, this is not that bad. If Fox stays on low wages, then it could be a good deal. And if we sign Saito, that helps as well. But then that is two out and 5 in. What we really need after an RB is a strong backup for Frey. Without him, we struggle bigtime, and it seems that the others cannot step up to the Champ level. Celar as we know is that not that player. You need a hold up player at this level. We used to have two with Furlong and Gallen. We know you at least need one as an out if passing around through a press is not working. Selling Dyke was the correct move, his goals stats were going down, and he was getting old. What we got for him was amazingly lucky. If you look at Dykes stats of 6 goals this season, it looks not that bad ... but breaking them down 1 was with us, 2 in the EFL trophy (one of which came against Fulham U21), and two in the FA Cup. In L1, despite playing for the best team, he's only got 1. Of course, it's against Wrexham to ensure he keeps playing. But really, that's a drek return for a so-called Champ forward. Really poor. Even Celar has two in the league, and he's been injured for most of the season. We gonna need another forward yet again as we go into the season. They don't have to be awesome, just decent so, as backup for Frey. |

Don't worry; you only get the Chair if you don't mess with his misses. And now we also know the answer to the old age question of what do you bring to a rock, paper, scissors fight? A rock it seems. |
 | Forum Reply | Chair's hammy at 11:27 13 Mar 2025
Prem money talks, Wilder would easily put £10m on the table for a Chair (geddit?). |
 | Forum Reply | Chair's hammy at 11:25 13 Mar 2025
They stock up when they are prem teams for when they come down again. Ipswich have done just that this season. Norwich were the masters at it until they relied on Sergant being a proper forward, which he is not. |
 | Forum Reply | Chair's hammy at 01:46 13 Mar 2025
We may never see him again if Wilder gets SU promoted as he has the hots for him. That could have been his last game for us. |
 | Forum Reply | Dixon-Bonner loaned out for the rest of the season at 21:39 12 Mar 2025
Something must have happened in the background otherwise, he would not have been loaned out with injuries we have. That's a message that is and that message is you will never play for me again. Marti the Merciless, has dumped Madsen, and in the last match hooked Yang, so he takes no prisoners. Shame as EDB always showed for the ball and had legs, unlike Madsen who I now see not only plodding about but also hiding at the back (remember we bought him as a link player). |
 | Forum Reply | Disappointed at 13:27 9 Mar 2025
They why did he not start Lloyd upfront? As he knew he was not up to it. By playing Smyth he shows the difference to all between a pacy player who is a winger and a real forward. Bringing Lloyd on proved that point again. He has proven he's exhausted all options up front and needs players to either be fit or proper recruitment. Madsen could return soon, just to prove once again he's not good enough unless he starts actually running of course. |
 | Forum Reply | Alfie Lloyd at 11:19 9 Mar 2025
He was up against a solid top Champ defender in Bartley. And he got dominated. However, despite that, he tried, and it was just not his day. Nothing came off. Hopefully, he will learn from that and get better. Also, he is a forward who plays the channels. But he could not do that as we had plenty of wingers on, so he was forced into the middle against Bartley, who was all over that. Taking lumbering defenders down the wing is Lloyd's asset, but he was unable to do that in this game. I am not convinced either, but Smyth, when he came back, was just okay. As we have seen, Smyth developed to become a decent winger in this league, nothing amazing, but decent. So, there is time for Lloyd, too. As we have seen with Armstrong, though, if you don't improve, then we shall sell you. And it's probably the correct decision at the time. |

Smyth, upfront, is a message to the bosses that we need another experienced Striker. Colback is now 1 yard off the pace for Champ games, if its on QPR's side the option, then he's gone. Forgetting the pen (which shows he's a yard off the pace), his yellow came for being not quick enough as well. Marti is pissed about it for sure with his comments and he's onto Colback now too with those comments. In these situations, you miss Varane and Field. I don't understand why we don't give EDB a chance as at least he runs and runs. Same with Andersen as he's out for too much of a season and also looks a yard off. He will be gone too. Yang has been given a run, but apart from looking good against a poor Derby, he does not even seem to beat a man. He looked very poor against a proper Champ LB. Paal phoned it in and seemed to be on the beach. I would give Morgan a go is Paal is going to play like that. Chair and Saito were the only ones trying to play the game, Smyth was out of position and never received the ball as Morgan was outnumbered in middle as Colback was unable to support (hiding a lot at the back). Bartly was impressive for them, but even he got a yellow and I bet Frey would have smashed him around a bit and got something from him. It's not terrible; it's expected with that team. The real problem is that we do not have fit replacements for players when they are out. So, they start to become key. and if those key players go off form like Paal or get too old like Colback, then we are screwed, even against 10 men! We need to scrape across the line with 50 pts and 16th place. Then, in the summer, it will be once again a massive in-and-out mess. This is the knock-on effect of Warburton's massive punt (approved by Hoos) and Beales's screw-ups. Yep, years later, it can affect a club like that as the contracts are big money and for many years. You may say those players are not around, but Colback, Cook, Andersen, and Frey were brought in to shore up the ship when we could not afford big transfer fees (which they did for those years). If Saito comes to us I will be surprised, Edwards there is no chance as Saints would want £3m for him and even if we had it, his wages will be mega prem wages which we cannot afford which is why Saints will play him. Now we have only Chair as the salable asset that anyone would want and naff all else. I suspect Wilder will put in a £10m plus bid for Chair if Sheff Utd gets promoted, it's clear he has the hots for him. Thus there will be more ins and outs. It will be a summer of chaos again. |
 | Forum Reply | VAR at 12:36 7 Mar 2025
I thought I read somewhere that VAR is sometimes only accurate beyond 20cm of difference or something like that. So, he could have well been onside. In addition, he was moving away from the goal. Therefore, I would say the rules should be amended so that if the player directly moves away from the goal line and is 10 yards beyond the keeper, they are onside. This way, we don't get those stupid offsides inside the wrong half because someone ran back to be onside when they received the ball. |
