RND
at 09:36 4 Dec 2025

RB, we have Dunne and Mbengue, who now look like this is their best position, especially when they play together.

LB, we have Larkeche, who is away more than JCS, and Esq, who is in a defensive position, a liability, which is not his fault, as he's young and still learning.

RND is never fit, as his record shows, so we had Field fill in now and again. Field himself can only do it if the oppo winger hes up against is not speedster, otherwise he gets caughht out. Not really his fault as Field is trying hard and is really a DMC. Now, with Field out and RND not available for half the matches, we have a massive problem.

JCS can fill in there, but hes like RND. So, maybe we can rotate them.

Really this all goes back to Jan last year when we learned Paal would not renew and we did not want to give him a bumper contract he was after and Watford moved away from him due to loss of form just before then.

So, we have had two transfer windows to sort this out and have not done it. We took a risk on the LB position with two youngsters and got caught out. RND was the quick fix, but hes really fit enough. Skillwise RND is way better than the Bidwell type he gets associated with and hes faster (but not a speedster just faster than Bids). Hes a very useful and good Champ standard LB ... when hes ever fit. His wages are way too high which is why SU needed some rest bite from them. And thats an ex-prem side.

We should not sign him perm, another loan next year coud be an option if its only % of his wages not the full amount. But right now in Jan we need a LB, because we needed one last Jan and we needed one this Aug and we need one now. This needs to be sorted ASAP before anything else. We sorted out the forwards and wingers problem on the Champ cheap, that was amazing and well done. Now finally get the LB sorted, this should be the easy cheaper one to sort out. BTW Dale cannot play Champ LB, hes an AMC.

Dembele v Smythe
at 16:33 27 Nov 2025

They didn't do it as much last night.

But the tactic is when we have the ball on the right Dembele moves infield at the number 10 position. MB moves up the right flank to play wingback and Dunne moves in behind to cover if they lose the ball.

Dembele here is very effective and its his real position running at defenders from the middle (not the wing). He really stretched Hull, but not so much against Blackburn

What I did notice is that he's running back a little more and even got some defensive tackles in. That helped out massively in the second half. But after 60 mins hes blowing. So, needs to work on his fitness as well.

Smyth looked great against very tired Blackburn legs, we should have got him on earlier. Smyth is a solid pro and I bet JS starts him next game.

Solid pro. Defensively very useful at LB, make no mistake, he was there as Blackburn likes to lump it upfield and dominate in the air. They failed, as our back line was full of towing defenders and MB, who is a jack-in-the-box.

Going forward he did play it back too often to the extent when he did want a 1-2 return from say Chair he was passed up on it a few times as he had set the seen of "I am not gonna attack". Not asking for much jus ta little more on playing balls forward and not always back all the time.

If he can do that, then he could be even better. But solid at the back, great sub in for RND.

If he had stayed he would have had Kone, Burrell and Mbegune to work with. Not to mention Vale and Saito. A mistake for him and that JS has come in and done some decent work so, that makes it look worse for him, despite the better players coming in.

Another JCS thread
at 16:14 27 Nov 2025

This game was a classic Champ affair of running around like headless chickens. JCS would defo have got injured playing in that game, no, he needs to be rested. Same with Poku. Get 'em fit as a butcher's dog, then get 'em fit some more.

Then play them in 20m, 30m, 45m and then 60m, 70m and so on. This is what we did with Chair. Doing 60m for JCS was a considerable risk, and we did not entirely get away with it.

Just as worring is that Vale is injured and we have seen how long he can be out for.

Burrell was flying all over the world, as many of them were, but they still managed to put three past Dull and had 26 shots on goal.

Get on with it, I say.

They are so greedy that they want it all, and even after that, they want to ensure no one else has it.

Think if we had a billion, had been used to having billions for years, and the country was in trouble, most people would be okay with the government getting a load of it after our death. Of course, we could pressure the government for a deal, saying it all had to go on the NHS after the first £100m or something like that.

But they don't even do campaigns like that.
They want it all, because they can.

Rumour has it we were in for Dieng, yep, that Dieng who we sold to Boro, and then the transfer window shut before we could get it done.

If true, it would be for well below what we sold him to them for. Downside is AFCON runs until Jan 18th, so chances are he may be in that squad and not available for half of Jan. Or we sweat it out until then.

Hammer has been okay, and even Nardi is not that bad. Walsh will return by the end of December, I think, so we shall just have to defend better until then.

Good Team Performance
at 12:58 23 Nov 2025

They played as a team against a decent Dull side and won as a team.

B Hamer 6:
Partly at fault for the first, but he redeemed himself with a point-blank save. Seems to know the rules of the game now, too.

A Mbengue 7:
Great play down the flanks, still not the best at blocking crosses, but he's getting better. I think this is his position at RB long term. His runs really pinned them back, and his shot led to the first goal.

J Dunne (c) 7:
Quality goal and dominated the defence, also came across on the right when Mbengue went forward. You know how Cook leads the team, well, Dunne looks like he's doing the same now.

J Clarke-Salter 5:
Partly at fault for the first and tried to claim a foul for the second. He should know there is no VAR in the champ, and if you're fouled, they still get the goal. He wasn't that bad; just two mistakes cost us, and he was involved in both. Hopefully, he's just rusty, and the rest of his play was decent.

R Norrington-Davies 6:
Linked up well with the Chair and defended decently.

J Varane 6:
One of his better games, tackled well, but did not create much going forward.

N Madsen 6:
Played okay and had good link play going forward.

K Dembele 6:
A real threat for a change, I noticed how he moved into the middle when we attacked, drawing the fullback into the middle with him. This allowed Mbengue to charge up the wing whilst Dunne filled in behind him. Dembele is much better in the middle running at the oppo, only let down by being a little greedy at times.

R Kone 5:
Kept the oppo defence occupied, should have scored with a clear chance in the first half, but gave the ball away, which led to the first goal. Not really that bad, just unlucky at times.

I Chair 8:
Man of the match, totally in control at all times and driving the team forward again and again. Drops back and helps out too. Scored the first, assisted the second, and Burrell turned in his rebound shot. But even outside this, he was controlling the game; Hull had no answer to him.

R Burrell 7:
Stressed the Hull defence time and again. His pressing was excellent, and he was hanging around the box for his goal, as all good strikers should. Made life really hard for them.

Subs:
S Cook 6:
Came on for the tired JCS and was pretty solid. Had a chance to score but skied it over the bar.

K Morgan 5:
Came on for the tired Mbengue and was okay, did not do much but did not do anything majorly wrong. Still not able to block the opponent's crosses, though.

K Saito 6:
Only had a few mins but put in some decent moves with the others and on the right side of the pitch as well. Showing he can do it there too.

R Kolli 7:
Looked very good indeed and worked well with the others to pin them back. He should be the sub ahead of Frey. Glad to see him back, and playing well.

This was an excellent performance that built on the Sheff Utd one, with a win against a top-6 opponent and at home for a change. The way the defence is set up, especially on the flanks now, is very pleasing from an attacking point of view. We conceded two due to losing the ball upfield and JCS not being fully match-sharp. Once he is, then we shall look even better. With Kolli, Saito, Smyth and with Poku to come back, it seems like we shall have decent options off the bench too.

I think we tried to resign Dieng off Boro once the Eze money came through but it was too late or not agreed.

I suspect we shall be back in for him in Jan. Nardi I think now is toast. Shame last season I thought he was decent. It seems he has regressed.

He can finish, makes great runs, but does not have the pace to get ahead of the defender.
He cannot hold the ball up so, is not an out against a press and does not dribble or head the ball.

When people say "he scored two good goals against Cardiff, and then he got injured". Like as if he was about to kick on, let's be clear, he scored against Cardiff who went down. That's the same Cardiff that we drew with in pre-season, when we had a broken team until we started all the signings. And no he would not have kicked on, as hes just had a spell abroad and failed to do it. So, that Cardiff game was a one off.

Sounds like another Washout, really an average L1 forward.

What he did do, was show us why Kelman needed to be sold for max monies as we know what L1 forwards look like. And also show us what Champ forwards hidden down the lower leagues look like ala Burrell and Kone, we can sign them.

In 5 years time, people will go "oh yeah that dude, forgot we had him".

EV’s to lose congestion charge exemption
at 09:42 14 Nov 2025

EV's should not be charged until every motor is an EV, then we charge on weight and so on, until we have proper techno cars of today (as unlike what people used to say in the past, we have the technology today).

Then when we get to this stage and its all super efficent, we can look at how it affects traffic and do it by real conjestion and weighted off (in the peeps favour) if there is not adequate publi transport or parking near faraway transport hubs that will then get you central.

You can meet anyone almost anywhere. As long as you have found someone for you, then mostly (not always) how you met them should not matter that much.

There are extreme exceptions, meeting someone while they murder someone else and I have ever heard of someone meeting someone while they were having a dump.

But then I am lazy ;P

Non-offensive show that has had millions poured into it.
This is because it's a top-watched show for the BBC and can also be sold around the world. Which BBC World always loves.

In addition, the extra dances they put on, which are not contestants' dances, are comparable to West End or Broadway shows in terms of production quality. Lights, choreography, moves, make-up, dance sets.

It has high-grade dance parts from musicals, on the cheap. So, if you cannot afford those shows (live far away, too expensive) and you like that stuff, then this is an easy win for them.

I dislike it as I am not into that sort of entertainment. Musicals and plays are not my thing. It is noticeable that it has a higher female audience than male. Same with soaps and un-reality TV.

As I recall, he signed and then got injured in some training session with them. Happened straight away, so really unlucky.

He's not a shirker so, I assume now hes fit he will be fighting for place. Good luck to him, not sure hes good enough for the Champ, but niether is Kendel and we got £3.5m for him :P

Kolli is good player, can he become a Champ player?
Only way to find out is to play him. He should be on the subs bench.

Dembele refuses to run back, starting to look like this years boo boy, I bet Madsen will be happy about that.

Dembele is a number 10 in my view, hes the replacement for Burrell if he gets injured or loses form. Frey is Kone's replacement for the same reason.

The squad is strong now we have fit players back, LB is our big weakness and also GK now with Nardi's loss of form or being found out.

We need to sign a LB in the Jan window, even if it's on loan. Esq is not ready not even as a sub, Field will have to step if RND is not fit. As really we cannot rely on Field and Esq to back up RND who is not that great anyway.

Morrison had a mare against Ipswich so I suspect Mgs will be back in for him. Smyth will be back in for Vale, who also played poorly. Varane maybe in for Hayden as well.

Could be another slew of rotation changes for JS this week.

Stupid decision, as the World Cup is next year, and they won't have 2026 out by then.

I bet they do an update with it in, just in time for the WC or even worse, make you pay for it. I suspect that's their sneaky plan.

Played deeper as a 6, JS has worked out that's the only position for him. He cannot be a 10 as he cannot back quick enough, whens hes a 6 and we build it up the pitch he can then contribute.

Also, as we have faster players like Burrell, he can hit a pass through from deeper positions (as he has always had the passing skill).

Those two, with the extra effort put into running around, have been the difference.

Can he sustain and also improve upon it? Or will he, like Varane, regress as the Champ chews him up?
