Very much an outside chance of Champions league for the Bees. 3 games left and two of those are away to Liverpool and Man City.
Bees have won just 4 of their last 14 games which means the Premier League is either very competitive this season or absolutely rubbish this season if you can still harbour dreams of CL football next season.
4 wins from 14 and a "chance" of Champions League football!!
Not April 1 is it?

Worthing Promoted To National League.
at 11:51 27 Apr 2026

A great first time achievement no question, but Truro's promotion was hailed as a great achievement a year ago and look what happened to them.
Like Truro, Worthing face two main issues.
Firstly, the National League is mainly populated by ex-football league clubs all of them full-time and all with larger capacities than Worthing's 3000-4000.
The other drawback is one that the Truro manager,John Askey, often referred to and that is the travelling involved.
Granted Worthing is not as isolated as Truro but from travelling to away games located in the south Worthing will definitely be making the following next season.
All round trips mileage approx..
BARROW..700, GATESHEAD 680, HARTLEPOOL 650, AFC FYLDE 600 , FC HALIFAX 550,ALTRINCHAM 500.
Depending on the National League and National League North play-offs, trips to
CARLISLE (720) ROCHDALE (570) SCARBOROUGH (600) CHESTER (530) MACCLESFIELD (500) could also be on the cards.
I really hope Worthing do well next season and are not 2026-2027's Truro City.
But the travelling to quite a few away games-by road not air-is likely to be an issue as it was for Truro.
Perhaps Worthing have a wealthy benefactor and flying to the above games will be on the cards.
In which case ignore my second issue with regards to the travelling!

ABSOLUTE JOKE!
at 12:56 22 Apr 2026

So Liam Rosenior given a 5 year contract back in January is sacked after 4 months.
Chels have to cough up £24 million to pay him off!!!!
How many managers last 5 years?
Bonkers, and it really sums up that mob in SW6
Then you get Jason Cundy on Talksport saying he couldn't think of a worse Chels performance.
So where was he on 31 March 1986?
Of course Chels were just an ordinary Division 1 team with the chairman talking about putting up electrified fences around the pitch.
Many home games attracting attendances under 20000.
12000 for the final home game v Watford.
Yes we moan and groan cus and curse about Rangers performances and we are not World Champions (!) but I'm so glad my old man took me to the Bush on 1 October 1966 and not to SW6.
The Rangers.MY TEAM and proud of it.

Does anyone read AKUTR'S.
at 10:18 18 Mar 2026

Been reading AKUTRS since the last century.
The quality rarely dips and I love reading about the 60's/70's-being of a certain vintage.
But who can own up to having bought this mammoth doorstep of a book that Dave had published back in 2004?
Entitled "But First an Apology..The Very Best of A Kick Up The R's Volume 1" this is a book containing 600 pages A4 in size.I think it sold for £25.The cover featured a colourful montage of celebrating Rangers fans and the team celebrating promotion in 2004.Bottom right corner of the cover a small picture of a youthful looking Dave deep in thought!
Over 20 years on and I still flick through this massive tome and re-read certain articles again and again (to quote the Quo) .
Never ever seen this for sale on Ebay or anywhere else.
So anyone out there also got this fabulous book?

Neil Sedaka
at 10:38 4 Mar 2026

It's a generational thing.I remember buying my first Sedaka record back in the summer of '73 (Standing On The Inside) and I have got most of his albums and a big box set chronicling his early years.Suddenly news of his passing reminds you that these musicians that you have followed for the past 50 years plus are now in their late 70's/80's.
I'll probably get mocked but Barry Manilow is another singer who I have followed since 1975 and he is now nearly 83 and in not in the best of health.
Time marches on but the music and memories remain.

Five-star Saints whitewash wretched Rangers – Report
at 10:51 27 Feb 2026

For real child cruelty-in footballing parlance- you have to be of a certain age..like in your mid 60's and being taken to all the home games( and a few away) back in season 1968-69!
Especially as I had only known about Rangers winning, scoring loads of goals and hardly ever losing at HQ having first been taken to Rangers by my old man during the 66-67 season.
68-69 was like being doused with a bucket of cold water.
A real reality check at the age of 9.

Hey bosh67 you could be talking about Brentford!
That's Brentford who not only look like getting European football next season but may even have a sniff of a chance to get into the Champions League!
Strikers come and go-Watkins,Toney,Mbeumo,Wissa-but no problem step forward Thiago.
Only Haaland has scored more in the Prem this season.
Managers come and go but the momentum continues.
Who remembers Peter Crouch's first game for us?
July 2000 in a friendly which we won by 2-0 against...Brentford!
As someone once said "Football...it's a funny old game."

How about when a player scores then goes over to taunt the home/away fans.
Especially when some of those supporters are wheelchair bound or young kids.
Wow! How Billy Big Balls are you?
Book the fools for this moronic practice that would stop this nonsense.

Yes and in those days before segregation and when you could just turn up on the day and pay cash, Rangers were scattered all around Viila Park.My old man and I were at the front to the left of the dug outs so we had a great view of Mick Leach's goal and Keith Bradley's OG for which he earned a pat on the head from our number 10!

QPR in Reykjavik in 1984- UEFA Cup
at 11:07 14 Dec 2025

Yes that was a not to be forgotten couple of days that came on the back of a 5-0 drubbing to Spurs with Clive Allen netting a couple of goals.
I have still got the booklet "We Love You Rangers We Do" which was a review of the 1984-85 season with emphasis on the KR Reykjavik and Partisan Belgrade away games.
Our old friend Tony Incenzo was the author and it cost £2.
An advert for the Crown and Sceptre was on page 1 with June and Jim Arnott extending a friendly welcome to all Rangers supporters.
Also on page 1 was a name check for those who had given "assistance with this review."
Quite a few photos in this booklet so fair play to Tony.
Luckily I swerved the Partisan return leg which was like (according to Bob Stockwell) .."going to Millwall with a Chelsea scarf on!"
I often wondered what happened to these Rangers fanatics.
Most of us were in our early to mid 20's then and now we're all in our 60's.
To quote the title of Oasis's 2010 compilation album "Time Flies" and I doubt very much if I will see Rangers in Europe again in my lifetime.
Just as a follow up the Saturday following the Reykjavik trip we were at home to Newcastle.
Those of a certain age will never forget that game!

Rewind To This Day 1969..
at 07:02 29 Nov 2025

29 November 1969..
A great day for us kids as the snow was laying thick on the ground.
Not so good for football fans though as many games were postponed.
One that escaped that fate was the Division 1 (Championship) clash between Bolton and the R's.
Rangers down from Division 1 (Premier League) but not making much of a fist of acquiring a quick return due to an away record that had seen only 3 victories from 10 games.
So on a freezing Saturday afternoon just under 7000 hardy souls gathered at Burden Park to witness a goal-fest.
Having spent much of the day playing in the snow I came home to watch Grandstand and the teleprinter chattering out the full time scores.
Bolton....6 (SIX)....QPR...4.
Another away loss for the Superstripes (a change kit of red and black striped shirts and black shorts)
When my Dad and I went to the newsagent to pick up the Evening Standard the front page headline that I've never forgotten read..
QPR SCORE 4 AND STILL LOSE!
Despite the fact that Liverpool were at home to Arsenal (0-1 to the Gunners) Rangers claimed that Saturday evenings headline.(Imagine that )
Apart from a Charity cup game back in 1911 against Southend (away) (4-5) and war time games-not counted towards official records- versus Fulham in 1941 (home) (5-7) Crystal Palace (away) (4-7 ) Southampton (home) (4-5) both August 1944 the only time Rangers have scored 4 or more goals and still lost in a competitive match was back in January 1964 at home to Southend (4-5).
Thanks to Gordon Macey's Complete Record for that stat.
