Doomed...
at 18:41 2 Mar 2013

As the thread title says. We're fooked. The beginning of the end came when our Chairman panicked and sacked Eyre, who I still believe to this day would have kept us up, and we were actually trying to play football.
Huddersfield fans wanted him and Lillis to be given the job as they were playing good football, they've brought Robins in and they've gone again.
Coleman was an absolute joke and took us backwards, and as much as I love Keith Hill nothings changed. Can't see us going down but can only see us scrapping for league survival for the next few years.

The Chairman dropped Us In It...
at 17:41 14 Jan 2012

..when he sacked Eyre. Results weren't brilliant but we were going in the right direction. The players were behind him and the team spirit was good despite all the ridiculous rumours. Today was as bad as anything in the last 20 years and we are only going in one direction.
To get in a manager whose only brief was to keep us in league 1 and then push the panic button after half a season was ridiculous. Beech is worse and hasn't got the backing of at least half the squad who are completely disillusioned with what has gone on.
League 2 here we come, probably by the end of February.

It's like f-ing countdown. The "1" is Ball, which won't work.

Harry Bunn is off on January 2nd and he can't wait to get away.

Hope Beechy does well and bag 3 points at Tranmere! However, I can't see him making much of a difference to SE due to the fact that all of the players are the same, and that won't massively change the overall performances.

Rumours On Here
at 00:01 18 Nov 2011

Some absolute belters crop up on this board. Players we're supposed to be signing (Delroy Facey) bust ups a plenty and people having the manager by the throat etc..
Once they appear, the bandwagon just keeps rolling with people slating the manager more and more and more. I know we're in the bottom 4 and have struggled so far but i really believe the situation will turn. We've lost the last few games but the performances have been much better imo.
One of the first posts I made on this board (after swearing blind I'd avoid messageboards a couple of years ago) was about us punching above our weight. We're getting just over 2000 at home games. Bradford who we lost to in the cup get between 10 and 12 thousand at home games and are probably paying double the wages we are paying. COG was offered 5k a week which we couldn't even come close to. We are trying to survive in League 1 on conference crowds and this should tell you why so many loan deals are being done. We'll never sign an Eccleston ( who gets more than double what any of our players get playing for Liverpool reserves) or a Harry Bunn, who will eventually play at a much higher level on permanent deals.
I don't know what the answer is but I can see what our manager is trying to do. If fans want a settled team of committed individuals then we are going to have to compete with the likes of Fleetwood and other conference clubs that pay a few quid because we can't compete with whats around us financially.

Delroy Facey has never been on Rochdales radar as far as I know, and I'd be surprised if I hadn't heard, yet our manager has been slated on this board for considering him.
The manager has "allegedly" had bust ups with players, but when said players aren't following what they've been trained to do all week and struggle to manage themselves "professionally" away from the club then their will be fallings out.
Lets back our club and get behind everyone instead of expecting things that are'nt really realistic.
I know in the words of Dreeeam (or whatever they were called) Things Can Only Get Better, and I believe that they will.

Back To Basics
at 09:57 26 Oct 2011

As disappointing as last night was I think the calls for a change of manager so soon are over the top. i think we need to get back to basics with a standard 4-4-2 and attack teams as that is probably our best form of defence at the minute.
The players need to take some responsibility as they gave the ball away so easily last night it was untrue, even Jones, who up until his goal did very little. He's the leader on the pitch and should be geeing people up and driving them on. Their seemed to be no passion from anybody, even the crowd, who only made some noise once we went a goal down.
Balkestein clearly isn't a full back but I don't think their is another option until Widdowson is fit. We've all been crying out for BBM to come back in and he was woeful, don't think he passed to a blue shirt all night. I thought the centre backs did ok last night, for a change, but i get the impression that 1 or 2 of the loanees think they are above playing in league 1.
Maybe the players need a good piss up together which might get them bonding and wanting to fight for each other but changing the manager so soon would be a big mistake for me.

Punching Above Our Weight
at 01:46 25 Oct 2011

Been a lurker for a while and decided to register and can't believe the negativity that I read on here. We're 14 games in with a new manager, who admittedly is probably still learning his trade, and people are talking like we're being hammered every week, and we're not.
By all accounts Saturday was bad (I wasn't there) but it's our first defeat this month and if the reports are anything to go by we could have been out of sight by half time but for a couple of inches differeence.
When you look at the teams in the division, some of who get close on 20k every week and have been in the premier league not so long ago I think some of our support are seting the bar too high. Were on a learning curve that will hopefully only get better, as it did under keith Hill, but we can't expect miracles after 3 months.
Back the team and back the manager as we wouldn't want tyo end up like Stockport.
