A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report
at 10:51 13 Jan 2025

Be interesting to see if this affects our momentum with two difficult away games to come. What I took away from this game was you can really tell the players that are just not good enough or even committed enough for the rigours of the Championship. I watched Madsen in the pre-match warm up and he did not even look involved in that, very tentative footballer. Ashby such a strange player, can't make him out, looks at half speed most of the time and makes far too many mistakes and caught out big time on Saturday. Felt confident on way up to the game, saw the fog as we entered Leicestershire and thought is this going ahead, got to the ground and thought we are going to be Charity Park Rangers and our little boys won't fancy this, especially with your best competitive players not in that starting 11. You could easily tell the quality of Leicester they take their chances, even if they are given them by our poor decision making. Not duly worried as we are a mid/lower Championship side playing a team at a level higher, albeit struggling to get a foothold back in the Prem again.

Totally agree, Kolli should have buried that chance at 1-1, felt the game went away from us at 3-1. What was Ashby doing really poor decision making with hand up for that cross, with a penalty that killed the game for us. Difference for me is even though Leicester are a struggling Premier team, when they get their chances they score and can step up, we just don't have that ability and sort of felt conceding that early goal it was going to be a difficult game. Great support from the travelling fans rather let down by the weather and the team performance. We are a mid to lower table Championship team and the performance sort of mirrored this.

Effect on Team Form - Momentum Changer !!
at 08:54 12 Jan 2025

Two tough away games, can't really tell how we will do, have we changed our form to be a much stronger home side and gone all soft away - possibly. If I have to be honest I want us to be a strong home side again and keep momentum going that way.

Pretty much what I saw or didn't see, all a bit of a disappointment really.

What's your view of today's F A Cup exit?
at 19:48 11 Jan 2025

Generally thought it a strange game, for me what I could see in the fog was Leicester took their chances we didn't and conceding so early was a real downer. Our keeper never really made a save and what was Ashby doing most of the time, especially the penalty give away. Madsen least said the better. We had a good period when we scored but Leicester are just a better team. Left at 75 mins, earliest ever left a Rangers match but to be honest the game was done for me when they got 3-1 ahead.

Frey
at 19:15 8 Jan 2025

I like Frey up front, his physicality the sort of style of striker that suits what we need at this level, leading the line, roughing up defenders and getting vital goals. Reminds me of Hugill same sort of player, who I really thought did a great job while on loan to us. We sort of know Frey can't last a full 90 mins but options of Kolli and Lloyd to do last third of the game is a real bonus as well as they are growing in confidence.

Kieran Morgan - Looks So Comfortable.
at 21:03 7 Jan 2025

The best players, especially midfielders do things easily and effortlessly on the ball, Kieran Morgan with confidence growing is demonstrating this really well. We are seeing it in front of our eyes been given the chance after being released by Spurs and looks like he is taking it full on. Exciting times ahead for both him and us, as he progresses.

Alfie Lloyd
at 18:01 7 Jan 2025

I like Lloyd he is developing was impressed when he came on in the Spurs friendly in July, wondered whether we might have a bit of player on our hands. Last night as commented looked a lot more focused in the lone striker role and caused Luton plenty of problems. Saw at Bristol away how he was causing them problems when he came on 2nd half and getting us up the field. It is good we have options with him and Kolli when Frey has done his 60 plus minutes.

Fortress Loftus Road
at 08:51 2 Jan 2025

Very good points the only way we can continue our progression is by making Loftus Road a tough place to get a result for away team. For far too long now, probably since we came back down in 2015 it has been far to easy for away teams to beat us in our own backyard.

Watford - giving it the biggun’
at 08:44 2 Jan 2025

Don't think Watford as a town is grim, always had a soft spot for it and still meet a couple of mates there for a drink every few weeks or so, just think the football team is a bit meh. I do like their ground these days, they have made it into a very good modern football ground within the existing footprint. It was an awful ground in the late 70s/early 80s.

Isn't it nice to have Loftus Road back to being a tough place to come again, our home form will be key to push further up the table. Now let's see off Luton next Monday.

Great first half all important early goal, we do look a lot tougher with Frey up front. Jimmy Dunne immense again.

Off Topic - The Impossible?
at 13:13 31 Dec 2024

It is such fun watching the entitled Man United struggle, enjoyed last night's game was willing Newcastle to keep scoring. Unlikely they will go down, to be honest it would just be good to see them as a mid/lower Prem team for years to come.
Going back to Tommy Docherty's team of 1979/80 we had some great players in that team, started going regularly to Loftus Road as a 16 year old lad then. It all fell away in the 2nd half of the season but players like Bowles, Currie,Allen, Gillard, Goddard, Hazell, Hill, McCreery, Roeder, Wickes, Woods what a joy.

Celar off?

Can't see him going to Werder Bremen as mentioned probably a clickbait story, but can see him going back to Swiss league pretty soon, although injury may have scuppered a January move. To me he has never looked happy at QPR, we are probably not the right fit for him and he is not right for us in the Championship.

Still not convinced by Kolli as lone striker away from home, he does not have the physicality yet to play that role, prefer to see Lloyd in that role, he has a more physical approach. Frey still best option as starter with Lloyd and Kolli coming on for last 30 mins or so.
