The most ambitious crossover soundtrack to a film of all time? I had it on loop when it came out, the Slayer/Ice-T medley cover of 3 Exploited songs the standout for me closely followed by Biohazard/Onyx...
I wouldn't mind that at all actually. Half of Reign In Blood should do the trick. If one of the teams is losing the coach can even forgo his team talk.
You're right - I'll retract that. The previous threads are there I assume and don't have the will to trawl through them, nor know how to link them.
I can see this thread is going down the road of previous ones so for Clive's sanity I'll take a step back and hope for a dignified peace for the Ukrainian people and leave it there.
That's a serious accusation wilkins, can you give receipts on these fascist comments as I must have missed them. Absolutely no place for that here.
No place for racism here either - although I'm yet to see anything racist myself. Unfortunately I've witnessed actual racism on this message board with zero consequences or remorse, but as a previous poster pointed out "some people on LfW are more equal than others."
Sorry about your stroke connell, hopefully you're ok and you can sort out your anger issues so it doesn't affect you so much. I apologise for the bad grammar comment, it was uncalled for.
My understanding from a while back was that non-footballing threads like these were not welcomed by the forum admin, but some way along the line that changed again. Case in point: I asked the same question at the start of the mammoth Biden v Trump thread started by the same poster who on this very thread has demanded to be arbiter of who can and who can't post their thoughts on anything, and this was their response:
"I started this thread Orthodox
We have always had a varied list of topics debated on here.
Music, other sports and general affairs etc.
And general posts when someone famous passes away etc.
Yes there is one on our general election and when covid was at its height, and zero football happening, there was some very frank exchanges going ahead.
We all follow our team but there is life outside of QPR and some of it, from my perspective, I enjoy debating about all sorts of other issues.
If some people get out of hand with sometimes some inappropriate bashing of other forum members, I think that's when some of these discussions would be challenging.
If we all remain respectful of others when stating our own personal views, I feel it's all OK but if not, I stand corrected.."
My suggestion would be to either a) have a blanket ban on anything non-QPR related, or b) not get involved in a non-QPR related discussion in which you might read thoughts and views that differ from your own. Obviously any blatant nastiness (profanity, name-calling, racism, misogyny, etc) would be off the table as we're all adults here who should be able to control our emotions and have respectable chats with each other.
BTW, my favourite cheese is chaource, my favourite ever match was the Play-Off final, and I follow the Rs because I fell in love with them in 1987after being dragged to the 3-1 victory vs Coventry on Boxing Day by my dad's mate.
Miles Coverdale School. Shockingly, given how close the school is to HQ, I was the only one who followed the Rs in my class, the rest of the kids followed Liverpool or whoever was winning the FA Cup that year. This is standard practice with younger kids I know, but looking back I'm still shocked that not one other child was an Rs fan. And we used to get free tickets to go as well every now and again, happy days.
I'm personally glad this isn't an echo chamber, and the majority of views have been presented in a respectful way. Accompanied by the perennial Downvote Brigade of course
Fair play. Here's hoping the Democrats get their house in order over the next 4 years and drop some of the nonsense that lost them this election so the American electorate gets a decent choice between the two parties for their next President. I'd argue the chaos that you refer to was caused as reaction to the previous four years of unparalleled weakness and poor leadership shown by America's then President and Vice-President.
No one in their right mind should trust Putin. Ever. Same way as no one should trust anything a politician ever says, including our PM. Anyone who thinks Trump/Vance "trust" Putin is suffering from an extreme case of TDS - behind closed doors you can guarantee the discussion is much different to what they say in front of the cameras.
Do you think Churchill and FDR trusted Stalin? Yet they sat down with him more than once and came to an agreement of how to defeat Hitlr, despite Stalin invading Poland at the start of the war.
POTUS Trump is approx. 40 days into his second term of being democratically elected by the American people, which means you've got over 1400 days left.
Or by "the sooner he's gone the better" are you suggesting something else?
Back to the debate though - I'll just add this. Ukraine and its people deserve a dignified peace. Not surrender, not Putin gets whatever he wants. But another 100,000 dead people isn't going to move that line on a map. So Zelensky, or whoever replaces him, needs to negotiate what they can and end the fighting.
Ah, I see the name calling has already begun, accompanied with quite shocking grammar.
A quote from the admin of this forum, Mr NorthernR, from a while ago:
"And I'll offer a little bit of 'advice' of my own at this point.
After some initial really interesting discussion from across the spectrum, both threads have now descended down through the bit where everybody who holds the opposite view is either Hitler or a Communist, into some really quite nasty, personal stuff.
It's exactly why I used to just delete these threads and say go elsewhere for that. I've relaxed it this summer on trust, and initially it's produced some really interesting stuff which I've enjoyed reading, but I'm not having the direction both these threads are going now.
...
Everybody here is a QPR fan. We support the same club, we sit in the same stadium, we drink in the same pubs. We think differently about a whole range of issues, and that's okay - people are entitled to hold different views.
The rhetoric gets dialed down now. We treat each other with respect whether we agree or not. We remember we're all QPR here together.
Otherwise I'm going to start deleting and locking threads, banning accounts, and if I end up here by myself, well after 20 years I don't give a toss."
Another recommendation for American Primeval, truly top notch all round. If you like your westerns uncompromising and meticulously faithful to the feel of the times it's a must watch - every step in those days was a potential threat of (insert bad thing) happening, and the show does a great job of showing this.
Also started S2 of Lioness on Paramount + and it's potentially better than S1 so far.
Landman on Paramount + is superb. Another Taylor Sheridan project (Yellowstone, Special Ops: Lioness, Tulsa King) and it's been fantastic so far. Worth watching just for Billy Bob Thornton chewing up scenes as he continuously puts out fires in his day job running an oil company for a billionaire played by Jon Hamm. Superb cast - Ali Larter looks great as Billy's ex-wife - and the hook in the first episode is one of the best I've ever seen. Hopefully it continues to be this good throughout.
Delighted for you Thame - hope it all goes well! Do keep us updated on your quest to become a bonafide 'Murican - it's a really exciting time for the country and all who are privileged to live there.
