 | Forum Thread | What about Ronnie Ed in midfield?! at 10:24 15 Mar 2025
With Varane and Field out, what about three in midfield with Ronnie Edwards, Morgan and Colback? Then Morrison in the back four Dembele and Saito out wide and hopefully Frey up top. |

What I don’t understand, which maybe someone can explain to me, is the ticket sales? How can it be sold out this morning when we haven’t won this month, are going to lose by three or four, and it’s live on tele?! I thought it was just idiots like me who turn up to these injury ravaged thrashings? |

My other worry with Dunne, is whether a fee was agreed, but he was told he could only leave once a replacement had been found…and whilst that was going on SU went elsewhere. There is a chance that Jimmy is seriously hacked off with the club. If so that isn’t going to be good for the second half of the season. |

I couldn’t agree more. Wonderful. I’d go as far as saying it is joyous at the moment…sorry if that sounds soft?! It’s almost like the longer we’ve been made to wait for any sort of real quality, the more we appreciate it. In my opinion this current team and manager are so much more enjoyable to watch and support than the promotion side of 2014 (obviously excluding that amazing day at Wembley!) |

He’s 23. Agreed. Way past development |
 | Forum Reply | Ashby. at 17:19 11 Jan 2025
He not young. He was born in Nov 2001. That makes him 23 doesn’t it? That is peak age for a pro footballer. He is not a kid. He is no good, send him back. Lose games for someone not us. |
 | Forum Reply | Ashby. at 17:05 11 Jan 2025
Please let’s call a spade a spade. He was worse than woeful. Marti is quite rightly brutal when he needs to be. See Kakay, Dozzel, Dykes etc. He will never play for us again. He was shocking. He personally gave away three goals. 1. Tried to beat his man one-on-one when he was the last line of defence. Lost it. They ran through and scored 2. Saito didn’t stop or bring down his man, but then passed him on to Ashby. He was flat footed and lost him. They scored. 3. Then he gives away a stupid pen. Vardy scored. You can’t defend that performance. He isn’t young. West Ham let him go. Newcastle loaned him out. Both clubs can see he won’t make the grade. Send him back and get some decent right back cover. |

What a brilliant night …and a cracking report to match. Thanks Clive. Isn’t it interesting how things develop throughout a season. You can’t win football games unless you win, or are very competitive in midfield. Early season we had Field and that was about it. Now Varane has really caught up with the pace and physicality of the Championship and Marti has pulled another master stroke by spotting Morgan in the Dev squad and giving him his chance. Those three together make us competitive against almost anyone. It looks like we won’t be battling relegation quite the way we thought…and it is another week until a league game, so I really hope he picks all three against Leicester. |

Christmas pushed him over the top….he’s now far to fat to fit any of the club clothing! |

Great news. That’s the best outcome from what we all saw. |

Just like Joolsyp, I’ve also ruptured my Achilles this year. It is very painful and takes at least a year to recover from. As soon as he went down I said that is what he’d done. It’s the kind of thing that just snaps as you sprint. What I don’t understand is that it is one of the simplest injuries to diagnose. You simply lay the person down and then squeeze the calf. The foot moves if the Achilles is attached and doesn’t if it has ruptured. Our physios would have known within a few minutes of getting him back into the changing room. If he has an Achilles rupture I doubt he’ll play for us again….or possibly ever. He wouldn’t be fit to play until Feb ‘26 at the earliest. I know from personal experience. We have to hope that the odd comms about it means that it is something else. Fingers crossed. He posted a Tweet after the game but he’s also radio silent now…so I fear the worst. |

By “ just susceptible to deep crisis of confidence” do you mean basic mistake that costs the game?! |
 | Forum Reply | Joe Lumley at 20:09 29 Nov 2024
The worst goalkeeper we’ve had in the last 15 years…how has this happened?! Just goes to show so much about ‘making it’ is a mixture of luck and being in the right place at the right time. |

Oh bugger! |
 | Forum Thread | Colback at 17:25 29 Nov 2024
..apologies, if this is on another thread already…but it has to be good news that Colback is the third player featured on the main photo of the club’s email about tomorrow’s game. Surely that means he is playing some minutes tomorrow? I know I shouldn’t be pinning my hopes on a 35 year old centre mid…but surely he adds some steel, runs around and passes forward?! |

We need Morgan, Varane, Cook & Field to be superb again to have any chance at all….surely we will eventually score a goal or two just by accident?! |

Andersen has been in such poor form and Dembele plays better when central so I’d be tempted to go for; Nardi Dunne cook JCS Field Varane Saito Dembele Chair Frey |

I completely and utterly agree Clive. I was so pissed off at our team selection. This was round three for Christs sake and a London derby…last 16 in sight. Ffs. Palace were good, but as soon as we changed things around and played a bit we were right in this game. And a point to remember was their winner was actually against the run of play in that quarter of an hour. What a waste. Marti said in a recent interview that he wanted to do well in cups…and then did this. If we had expected them to drop players then he clearly hadn’t seen what they did in the last round. Also I refuse to be quick to judgement…but I am getting a little concerned about Celar now. |
