Beware Claygate - I knew someone who was bitten by an adder on Claygate Common. |

The entire squad selection was faulty. Entire top 6 written in with no alternative except Bethell who had never scored a century and looked totally out of depth in his solitary game. No wicket keeper or reserve. Compare Carey with Smith - laughable. At least 2 pace bowlers not up to standard, and one who is a walking hospital case. No spinner to tie down one end. Jacks - I ask you! A totally arrogant and blinkered approach with no plan B. I hope Stokes stays for another year because Brook is no way captaincy material. Mccullum and Key to go immediately, or at least at the end of the Ashes. At least 6 of this squad to be jettisoned. A complete rebuild of the Australian team is in prospect so hopefully the next generation will not be all powerful, but I wouldn't bank on it. |

The horrendous season in 1968 following our promotion from Div 2. Worst of all QPR 0 West Brom 4 on Boxing day and Man Utd 8 QPR 1 when all was lost. |

Bennie looked quite handy during the pre-season. The only thing Frey would be good at is custard wrestling. He is clearly musclebound and is not going to improve. |

Not injury prone either, which is always a bonus. Kone and Burrell are a dream strike force, one with pace the other with power. Full credit to whoever signed the pair. Especially as we invested the money from Kelman, who seems to have disappeared off the planet. |

The tactics have been terrible. Bowling short and wide is meat and drink to the Aussie batsmen. Only Archer pitches the ball up and he is our best bowler. The Aussie know that they just need to bowl straight and we will do their work for them. As for wicket keeper, we select a player who isn't even first choice keeper for his county because he can bat well, but when he doesn't, we have no alternative. Mccullum out!!! |

Middlesex have decided that they are going to leave Lords and build their own stadium due to only being tenants and therefore no revenue from the ground. Assuming it would be in Middlesex, this could be an opportunity for some type of sharing arrangement. |

What is the point of having 4 stadiums within 5 miles of each other. There appears to be zero chance of finding land locally. Therefore we have to fully explore the wastelands to the west, within easy reach of the M25 and the M4. Presumably LR is a goldmine for housing. Alternatively share Twickers with the RFU. |

A few pubs called "The Duke of York" may well be in line for a new name. The DOY in Fitzrovia had a signboard with Mountbatten Windsor's picture on it but I gather this has now been taken down. |

A footballer called Arthur Longbottom was always asking for trouble. |

Entirely predictable after all the bazball hype. 100 runs ahead with 1 wicket down and allegedly the fastest attack ever. We needed people who could consolidate. Too much 20/20 cricket means we don't know how to play test cricket. No proper warm up matches, pitching in bowlers who have barely played for a year. And Cummins and Hazelwood to return. And please please can we dispense with Crawley. A test batsman who is worth his salt should have a batting average of over 45. |

Or Channel 5. Hours of programmes about the Royal Family on primetime Saturday evenings. Dreadful films about Christmas in early November. Who on earth watches it? |

I'm old enough to remember Alan Spratley who was the most vertically challenged keeper I have ever seen. Generally a good keeper but absolutely hopeless at gathering high balls. |

Going back a few years, the disgustingly unpleasant Bernard Manning. |
