Just because we're all having such a nice time , a few points from last night. Chair foul 1st half - think it was about 12 mins in - any earlier that's a yellow for me Swansea yellow - definite orange for me, but not quite red Charlie yellow - on first view I thought "What???!" but replay shows that WAS a bit naughty - left his foot in Nico pen shout - Not even sure on the replay if the ball did hit his arm, but not deliberate and arm in a natural position so never a pen for me that one. The Barbet injury - suppose you could call that reckless, but would be a bit harsh I think. Added time all good, and nothing else missed I didn't think. Good solid 8 for me (Clive will give him a 7! |

Started the BC one, so here's hoping for a similar result. We're quite strong favourites for this one - Even money with Paddy P. I'll go for 2-0 Johansson and Chair to score |

I'll start with the surprising news that we are quite strong favourites to win this. Mr Power has them at 21/10, the draw at 9/4 and us at a quite skinny looking 13/10 |
 | Forum Thread | Beware the Academy! at 18:09 10 Feb 2021
Anyone see the 'poor' West Ham player who came on as sub, but didn't get a kick and was then subbed himself? Felt a bit sorry for him, but just goes to show what has been highlighted by Clive and our experiences - academy games, no matter how good you are, don't prepare you for the professional game. Now to be fair this guy had scored a hat full of goals for Man Utd U18s. Now as we know with the pick of the top half the country's top young talent, to even get to Man Utd 18s this guy must have been pretty good, and to score something like 20 goals IS an achievement, but all counted for nothing when he got a proper game. I think I'm right in saying he had only played about 30 minutes of 'proper' football before this so this was maybe an error by Moyes in throwing him in here. Having said that, the other youngster he used - Ben Johnson - looked seriously good and he was 18 as well I think. |

This time sport commentary Favourites and bloopers allowed Two that spring to mind "Where WAS the German defence, frankly, who cares" This one's a bit weird but I always used to love David Coleman's "ONE Nil!" and one of my favourite bloopers "For those watching in black and white, the yellow ball is behind the green" |

We have had this discussion a few times, usually at the onset of a Covid 'peak' Clearly, as can be seen from this forum, football, even in this 'sanitised', 'not quite right' form gives us all a lot of pleasure. The same can clearly be said for my other favourite sport - (National Hunt) horseracing. ITV's twitter feed etc full of people saying how grateful they are for the coverage. So the question, without a 'right or 'wrong', is do you think, on balance, it HAS been right to continue with top level 'behind closed doors' sport? [Post edited 7 Feb 16:15]

we've just had a blinding result, but its gone 4 o'clock (Uk obviously!) and its still light - small victories, Troy, small victories! Seriously, it does feel a bit like we're emerging from the metaphorical and actual gloom! |
