OK lads. Let the squeaky bums relax now. We would all have taken a point before the game. Truth be told anyone could have won that. Happy with what we got. Our boys will need a rest now before Stoke. Need some of those injuries sorted. |

Definitely a tricky second half for us. We’ve done amazing to get 2 goals. But with Leeds pressure we could fade. Gonna need 100% from the lads this half to get anything. 45 mins squeaky bum time!! |

Also if we pro-actively pushed the ball forward from the back, with some level of urgency before the opposition reset behind the ball, then the likes of Chair et al would have more opportunities up front than they currently do. This passing back 20 metres kills our opportunities - not to mention giving the opposition time to laugh at us poncing around to find Nardi. |

Nardi with a shot on target. Outfielders are you embarrassed?? [Post edited 11 Mar 21:40]

Who is this Madsen guy you’re talking about?? Edit: it’s OK I’ve seen him … in open space forward and pointing to Dunne to pass it back. WTF [Post edited 11 Mar 21:25]

We haven’t been scoring all season … we don’t have the forwards for it. But our defending was terrible for that second goal. Too many bad days at the office!! |

Strong press from ‘boro that we can’t cope with. Coupled with our slow play at the back allows ‘boro to all get back behind the ball and we can’t find a way through. If this continues it’ll be another 45 minutes of poor play from us. Thank God Smyth is on for Yang - he’s had a shocker. |

That Paal miss is a complete shocker!!! As has been the rest of his game tonight (he’s not alone though tbf) |

I’ve thought about all you say and have nothing to add. |

If there was ever a game that confirmed what we’ve known for a couple of seasons now, this was it. We somehow need to find a bargain striker in a world where all other teams are looking to do exactly the same. I completely get all the criticism of the board for not fixing this but the truth is they did try with Celar. Maybe he’ll come good, maybe he won’t (my personal view) but they did make a go of it. It just hasn’t worked. I hope that Celar has it in him to turn it around but I think an efficient striker will remain top of our shopping list come the summer. Summer will see the next stage of evolving our team - but it’s no quick fix. My only criticism will come from not trying (board, management and players) - I believe they are trying right now - may not be good enough for some and I don’t think it’s good enough for Marti either. We keep building. |

Poor match. We allowed pompey to do one on us and seemed unable to muster a decent response or performance ourselves. The lack of protection from the ref on Saito is disgraceful. I don’t mind seeing a tough game but when their guy Saydee launches into Alfie’s fair tackle after he’s done two awful tackles is poor show. We just didn’t have it in us today unfortunately. Tough games ahead of us now, we’ll have to be better than this. |

Great atmosphere for the first 10mins. We need to get a bit of a grip, all them really. Some meaty tackles going in. |

Lots of good perspective from both sides of the argument. At the end of the day it will be all about how he ends the season and running the ruler over him just as we would a new signing (with the advantage he’s ours already). The whole point of the loan is for him to grow, improve and show his true level. We’ll certainly find out when he comes back. Hope the lad finishes the season strong and makes the step up for us. |

Sad news and as said earlier an integral part of this tight band (even with the presence of Weller and Foxton out front). Only 69, young these days and thoughts with all his family, but what an incredible legacy in era defining music he created and left for all to enjoy. RIP Rick. |

There’s very little choice to be fair. Nobody else would want him based on his performances and now his recovery from a serious injury. OK, he did something in his last couple of games but he was miles behind on his performances (only just surpassed in the poor performance stakes by Madsen who is looking a completely hopeless case). We just have to put him back into training, introduce him from the bench if he’s interested and see what we get. Will be interesting to see if he’s up for it now. Only other choice is to loan him out. |
