Was Cacá the Corinthians centre back who got involved with Alacaraz. Yuri Alberto made the "foul" and was sent off but if you see the footage Yuri Alberto Nº9 is far from any confusion.. plus its an Argentinian/Brazilian thing .. they are not the best of friends anyway.
Just back in Portugal after a short trip back to Southampton to see family after 13 years. Jaysus what happeed to the centre ? Hardly recognised the place.. had a strange interaction with someone outside of West Quay .. who asked me aggresively if I was from here (I was with my Portuguese wife and kids plus my Ma who moved from Belfast in the 70s (I was born in 73)).. I replied used to be .. he then asked me where the nearest sex shop was ... Feckin expensive cost me over 2100€ for flights and hotel (feckin bastard ghosted me after having arranged and confirmed for 2 months on Booking.Com .. should have stayed in Ocean Village for around 600 quid .. ended up in Warsash in a feckin fixed caravan for almost a Grand... jaysus ...
Wouldn't worry too much as he only wants to play for a team challenging in one of the top 5 leagues. He is inching closer to Atalanta but they still haven't met the fee that Celtic are requesting. Have heard a lot about the fact that he didn't make the Euro squad (which surprised a lot of people in Denmark - Thomas Graveson especially called the decision wrong) , the main reason given by the now ex coach was that he wanted to stay loyal to those that had played in the qualification games. The stand in Danish coach is the ex Celtic player Morten Wieghorst who rates O Riley very highly so will more than likely call him up. Also we are taking about a guy of 23 years old ...who had just progressed from their U21 team .. so it's not a huge surprise that he didn't go to the Euros. Atalanta are currently in negotiations with Juventus for Koopmeiners and see O Riley as his replacement.
Tiago Pinto cut his teeth at Benfica before moving to Serie A (not sure if he wasn't with Marseille as well) Evanilson is a young striker who together with Taremi formed a good strike force at Porto. They are absolutely strapped for cash at the moment as the ex President (The mythical Pinto da Costa) left the coffers completely empty for the newly appointed President André Villas Boas (yes the ex Chelsea and Spurs boss). Taremi has left on a free to Inter after his contract expired and Evanilson has left for Boscombe (which is a strange choice to be honest .. more money but not so much prestige struggling for relegation or maybe mid table)
Should scrap it and make it a UK based cup .. would be the closest thing to the hypothetical "what would happen if the Scottish teams were playing in the EPL" which will NEVER happen (in my opinion) and obviously it would still be heavily tilted towards the cash richer clubs .. could be an interesting compromise without any team losing their relative league positions or causing league restructuring etc.
This is one of Baz's main problems especially at international level with Ireland. We have lost so many goals from long range where he either doesn't anticipate or get his feet in the right position ... in some he is leaning too far on his right foot and the ball swerves to his left. He is still young and not the finished article so hopefully he can iron these deficiencies out of his game. We all hope he can get back fit for next season!
President is in hospital suffering from cardiac problems apparently .. the ref has hung up his whistle after the attack .. if you see the pics as well as suffering a punch he was kicked in the head whilst on the ground.
Being a son of a Belfast family forced to flee in the 70´s as my family couldn´t hack the anti catholic hate at the time, and as one of my uncles (dock worker) moved over to the bright and vibrant Southampton we all moved over, the catholic faith obviously affected the schooling choices of the family. Hence the first which will come as no surprise was Springhill opposite the Dell, hence why I am on this site. Afterwards moved to Glen Eyre/Cantell´s rival St George - which at the time was just male although I believe now its mixed ... just my luck
Thing is Nick , who would pay for the matches if the "Big Teams" are not in it? Sky would no longer pump in the millions they do now .. maybe another would but maybe at a reduced premium say 10-15 million per team ... would the clubs still flourish ? Think the home grown player would get more football and the big players may not think it is the utopia that it is at present ... who knows ??
It would be interesting to see how the EPL survives without the Sky cash as obviously if this utopia would to happen then Sky would "take its ball and go home". Unfortunately they market the game worldwide which is why they pump the millions that they do. It would make it a "purer" competition .. may however put it in line with the Scottish league where the income comes from a puny TV deal and what you can make through the turnstiles.
Lyon have announced Culeta Car .. last one out turn off the lights. Pity as i remember seeing him at Marseille but everytime i saw him play for Saints, he never seemed the same player.
Bit hipocritical taking Sky´s money then complaining that matches are moved so that they can televise them. Over here in Portugal ALL of the first division matches are televised long are the days where the matches were on a sunday afternoon (4pm was the traditional time like in Italy). Also there is no 3pm embargo as they have over there.
Love the Buzzcocks ... during my work experience at college I worked for a lighting company who supplied rigs and lighting for concerts. One of the concerts I worked on was the Buzzcocks at the Wedgewood Rooms in Southsea. After the gig we all sat down to eat and all of a sudden food was flying and it was a free for all food fight!! Ahh great times .. another band I worked on at the Wedgewood was Pele who were touring with their Fireworks disk. Great band at the time .. especially the track Megalomania ...
