In which case, if we want them to, they can go and play somewhere else.

One of Tamworth's pens went through the side netting, it looked to have gone wide at first.

In my opinion, no, it wouldn't be worthwhile.

Him and John play in different positions as well.

Shouldn't that be "no mads neither"?

It's in Leicestershire, btw.

I never said it had anything to do with me, but you raised him as a reference point for Craig Dawson, hence why I asked.

You suggested we, a National League club, may consider paying £10K per week to a player who hasn't played in over a year on the off chance it might contribute towards promotion.

Where exactly was this money coming from? The owners are currently spending millions fixing the pitch, not to mention what they have already allowed the manager to spend in building his squad. They will have also spent a considerable sum to Accrington to allow us to play there, in addition to the day to day outlay running the club.

If Dawson hadn't played for us before, this thread wouldn't exist.

Not only that, but I recall bury being ridiculed for spending silly money on players they didn't need and could ill afford...

If they weren't working, how did they play home games in the winter months and in the evenings?

It's not a story; it's a true account of what happened.

Of course they had floodlights! How did they play evening midweek home games and afternoon games during the winter months?

Not quite.

It was switched because Marine's ground wasn't suitable according to the local police and rather than move the game to Spotland, Kenny Dalglish allegedly arranged for the tie to be played at Anfield as Marine's manager, Roly Howard, who sadly passed away last month, was his window cleaner!

Tamworth v Rochdale (FA Trophy) - Game Off
at 12:34 11 Jan 2026

I'm not so sure about that.

For starters, Burton are in League One. Yes, they're struggling, but there's still more than a whole division between them and Boreham Wood.

Also, BHW had comfortably dispatched two struggling League Two teams in Crawley and Newport to get to the third round.

Bromley, promoted from the NL 18 months ago, are currently top of League Two. Chesterfield, who went up with them, are in the play-off places.

Barnet, last season's NL champions, are in the top half of League Two and while Oldham are in the bottom half, they are 14 points clear of the relegation places.

It seems to me that if a promoted club can maintain the momentum that took them up, they are likely to bridge any perceived gap without much ado and subsequently perform better than the more established EFL clubs who have been treading water in the lower reaches of League Two for a number of years, such as the current bottom two.

As previously reported, he's injured and potentially out for the season.
