I agree with you Nick that Ralph will lose face but also agree that everything is about strengthening the squad which we clearly need to do. Mistakes have been made and whether we sell him now, January, or next summer he will go and we could do without him. Guess it's up to RoKo to plead his case to Ralph one way or another and trust that his course of action is correct and Ralph will go along despite his comments.

When I got up yesterday I thought the worst like everybody else but Ralph's statement put my mind at ease. Yes he has put his head on the chopping block but it has not been lopped off yet and the club is not for sale. This MS twitter rant and not possible dust up is not good. Whether he is the cause of the altercation or not he must be made to honor his contract and fined if he does not. Each and everyone of these players was happy to take the $$ before big clubs started calling so they can continue to take it with a smile or eat the fine or suspension....none of these rich toddlers know the meaning of DESTROYED.
The board is damned no matter what they do.....we wanted them to state their case, they have, so let's wait another two weeks. Too much judgement is passed too early and let's not lower ourselves to some of our players level. Yes we are tight on time to get new players and to gel as a squad but it can happen so chin up and let's enjoy the ride now that the wheels seem to be securely fastened. |

I wanted to comment on the upcoming article but the bar just closed and I am *toned & sleepy so here is what I came up with while walking the bulldog.

Should they turn out to be true, the Spider/Chambers offers from Arsenal are a hit and I thought the end was near after doing my best to stay possible despite terrible thoughts and foreboding emotions. On the positive, Chambers may be as good or better prospect than Shaw but like Luke, he has not proven anything yet and Clyne can fill that role immediately.. They are both young players who may or may not develop, we should take the obscene money and run...but we NEED TO START BUYING AND MAKING SERIOUS OFFERS!
2) Perhaps the board is pulling the greatest cover up in history...let me finish. We have loads of young talent able to fill the void should we sell some (or most) of our players. We secure ridiculous amount of $$ due to our 'Cinderella' year, and make off like bandits on every deal.....but we NEED TO START BUYING AND MAKING SERIOUS OFFERS!
3) This was the plan when RoKo came board with their enticing him with the ability to spend this giant wad as he saw fit to build Europa/Champions league squad....but we NEED TO START BUYING AND MAKE SERIOUS OFFERS!!!
Either this is the most insane back room deal making, team changing, squad reforming, nucleus reorganizing, overall everything not being the same pile of monkey shit.....or...it is exactly the horror show it appears to even newbie fans like me.

Good article Nick....Osvaldo is an expensive lesson I hope the new board will learn from. I stated my distaste for hunches in my first post but I think Ramirez might have a shot for some increased playing time under RK and could blossom. We have spent the money and like Osvaldo, have not given him a proper opportunity so until he knocks someone out he should get his chance. Maybe RK will see something MoPo did not...let's hope that's true for a few others as well. |

Last season was the first year I followed the BPL and I picked Saints at random and was treated to a beautiful ride and am now completely addicted to the sport and this team. For good or ill (mostly ill) I read all comments on this site, Daily Echo, etc, and am shocked by how everyone thinks the sky is falling. I am sick of everyone's predictions, thoughts, feelings, hunches, etc....give it a rest! It might be my rookie blinkers but can't everyone see Saints are in better shape than at the end of last season and get excited for this next one!! Stop talking about the guys that left and talk about who is now on board....so far every move a good one for the team and business. Ralph is near and dear to my Canuck heart and I can understand your frustration but he is a sports business genius and needs time. This is my first post so take it easy on me but I can tell you all as a brand brand new 35 year old fan I think our first match against Liverpool will be one of the best games in certainly my very recent memory but likely a lot of yours as well!! |
