I took up the free offer for ST holders and thoroughly enjoyed it. I sit in the Loft Upper usually so it was interesting to see a game at pitch level in the East Paddock. The girls won it with a late goal. Can’t remember when I last left the ground with a smile on my face! Well done to the club for promoting it so well.

I feel your pain, A40. I’ve decided to go with Gilles Peterson’s Quincy Jones tribute for some piece of mind. Will doubtless check in for 2nd half updates to bring myself down again though.

Good point in OP about Nardi ‘playing at a different speed’ to the rest of the team. Whenever he collects the ball he immediately looks to launch an attack but the rest of the team seem to think that’s their cue for a breather, turn their backs on the ball and just walk away. Any opportunity for a quick counter attack is then lost. So frustrating, particularly when we’re chasing the game.

905 tickets for our cup run

Got my proper paper ticket at the Box Office today. Was pathetically grateful when they handed it to me. Had a sleepless night thinking I was going to have to buy a smartphone.

As a fellow digital despiser and smartphone refusenik I’ve got a season ticket card too and remember well the anxiety as the new season approached last year. Would it work or wouldn’t it? Fortunately it did so fingers crossed for this year too.

I also had a wasted journey to the box office today (all the way from south London) in a forlorn attempt to buy tickets for Cambridge and West Brom (I prefer attending personally because the ‘eticketing’ thing on the website is a complete mystery to me). Despite being ready, willing and able to hand over hard cash to our club in exchange for these, computer said ‘no’ (not box office’s fault, of course).

How did buying a ticket to a football match become such an ordeal?

Loyalty points help.

There’s a link on the offish under Cambridge ticket news:

Supporters are able to check their Loyalty Points by viewing their online ticketing account HERE, where points are shown by selecting the person icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Took me a while to figure it out too.

Was a couple of years below young William at Ravensbourne School (just down the road from Bromley’s ground). ‘Billy Idol’, as he came to be known, was William Broad in real life. Used to look like John Denver. Gary O’Neil attended the same school too apparently, although that was after my time.

Would echo dmm’s remarks about the Bromley Boys film versus book. Books were much better.

My memory might be playing tricks (again) but wasn’t that the 5-0 defeat circa 2001? I was mates with Chris Philips, Wimbledon’s stadium announcer and Jazz FM/Kiss FM DJ, at the time and he played Steptoe & Son for a laugh. Chris introduced me to Dean Holdsworth after the game in the player’s lounge (a largely forgettable experience). Holdsworth’s first words were, “I f*****g hate QPR”.

My physical season ticket card took a while to scan at the South Africa Road turnstiles for the Loft Upper. One of the stewards eventually managed to get me through but it was a bit of a palaver.

Got mine today. There’s a £15 replacement fee apparently (sounds like they’ve identified a potential new revenue stream from disgruntled fans ‘ripping up’ their ST cards).

Indifference, mainly, although a female Spurs fan of my acquaintance said, “Oh, bless!” when I confessed some years ago.

Season tickets

I was told the end of July when I renewed at the box office a few weeks ago. They said that last year and nothing had arrived by the start of the season. They had to send me paper tickets for the first three home games.
