9 points off 6th, 9 points off 22nd...
at 11:00 17 Jan 2025

1 point per game from here would get us to 52. And breathe.

However, on current form a push towards the top 6 is not, completely, out of the question. In the short term we have Plymouth, Hull, Wednesday and Millwall. So nothing scary there. It's when we have to play Leeds, Burnley and Sheff U, all at home, that will be the real test of how far this team can go.

Clive meeting with Nourry

There certainly seems to be a philosophy of recruiting young players with potential. If only one succeeds, those trying to sell our Academy to kids and their parents will have a decent story to tell. Got to be better than using Sterling who left us ages ago.

Carefully considered assessment, with which I agree.

If you knew of a 23yo striker who gets close to 20 goals in a season in L1, then QPR would be among a clutch of clubs interested.
Let us see what happens.

A game abroad - any recommendations
at 16:01 16 Jan 2025

Over the last 18 months I've been to Lille, Lyon and Bordeaux. Not fir football matches, though.
All 3 are lovely stadia. On a par with the best of the PL grounds.
Lille is the easiest to get to as the Eurostar goes directly from St Pancras.

Depends if you're looking up or down.
If up, you want Blackburn to lose. Increasing our chances of getting a playoff slot, however slim that would be.
If down, you want as many teams below us as possible, including Portsmouth.

BRFC end up winning 3-0.

That was his 11th this season. Not always a starter, though.

New Match of the Day Presenters...

Kelly Cates used to present the Sky Sports equivalent of EFL highlights. Chapman has done MOTD2 for ages. Gabby Logan has presented virtually every other sports programme for Beeb.

3 decent choices.

The Akindilili seems to have some legs. However, he is an Aberdeen supporter so he may stay put.
Waddingham has signed for Portsmouth, though.

Morgan new contract
at 18:33 14 Jan 2025

It would be better if the club revealed the contract length, but they're clearly not going to do that.
Morgan's potential career path reminds me of Eze. We didnt do badly out of his development.

How about a few “not a lot of people know thats”
at 17:46 14 Jan 2025

Sorry, jussie but I think a lot of people know that.

I has Casablanca as my choice at a Desert Island screening for a significant birthday.

The actual lines were
" you played it for her. You can play it for me. Play it, Sam. Play it."

New Year transfer window rumours

OK re Schlupp but with several questions.
"Has got two good years" - has he really?
At what level? He can't get in a struggling Palace side.
Does he want to? Or move to MLS and wind down on big bucks.

And Greg Taor, a 27yo LB from Celtic.

I can't see that 32yo Schlupp would offer much of an upgrade on Colback, apart from being 3 years younger.
Don't know anything about Ekdal nor Taylor. The latter may be more likely if we can't tie Paal down on a new deal.

Leicester City v Q.P.R Match Type Thread.
at 07:45 12 Jan 2025

There's an awful lot of posters being wise after the event

For me, the selection of starting XI, was spot on. The right mix of resting key players vs game time for those on the fringes.
The result was v harsh, considering the way we played, particularly first half. Almost every goal capitalised on our mistakes.
Leicester fielded a full side and, despite recent form are still a PL side. That showed in the clinical finishing.
Once we were 5-2 down, the game was over. Subs at that point were irrelevant.
Ashby had a mare and Edwards, who is incredibly short of game time, showed why he can't get in Soton team.
The biggest disappointment, again, was Madsen. Doesn't get involved enough and has been overtaken by an 18 yo. He had his chance yesterday. Not sure he'll get many more.

No great surprise, although the scoreline just reflects the difference between PL and Championship finishing.

Ashby should be having nightmares over his mistakes.
A decent 20 minutes spell needs to extended to 90 when league action resumes
