Possession stat
at 13:10 1 Feb 2026

If we stay in shape, which we have done for some time, the opposition can have plenty of possession in their own half. 20 passes along the back 4 before trying to move forward can boost possession but is meaningless.
The 3 important stats from yesterday were:-
1. 15 shots on goal vs their 9
2. 8 on target vs 2
3. 2 goals scored vs 1

I was being hyper critical. The fact that he had 3 chances to score was good. The last one wasn't far from nestling in the bottom corner.
But he did let Eccles.go for their goal. Part of the learning experience and I trust JS to show him what he missed in the build up.

Devil's advocate. Of his 6 goals, how many penalties - 3?

Try picking MOM out of that. Solid performances all over the park from those in Hoops.
I guess it will go to Madsen ( a goal and an assist) or Kone. It wasnt just the latter's goal but the 1st half header and came out on top of a physical battle with Thomas and Kitching. Vale had a hand in both goals and laid on a chance for Bennie. Big shout out from me to RND, who was really impressive, both in defence and attack.

The only disappointment was Bennie. Rushed when he had 3 chances to score, especially the header, which should have been a Kolli type volley. He also lost his man for their goal. Very naive. Body shape all wrong, allowing attacker to spin off into yards of space. I suspect JS will be going through the video with him.

Blame the club, if you like. Yt none of us were party to the discussions
He might have wanted to go and try managing elsewhere.

Be interesting to see whether Dunne or Edwards plays at RB.
Saito and Esquerdinha fit but only on the bench.

Rural France. The roads are well maintained and, other than the N (A would be UK equivalent) roads limited traffic.

Something to be said for emigration.

As if that should get them a sympathy vote.

I'm not expecting it, but it would be very QPR, as Clive said, to shake off last week's disappointment and the previous result against them, and go out and win..

Cut it out. I did 6 years as an Estate Agent in France. And I certainly wasn't getting rich on the commission.

Why a new GK and LB?

Walsh was pencilled in as first choice, got injured and has come back as first choice. Cooper is on loan again, in L1. And Hamer got a new contract in Jan. Salamon was highly rated. Is that still true?
I do think Nardi will go, but we're hardly short of options.
Same at LB. RND is only on.loan, but is well out of the picture at Bramall Lane. Esquerdinha is yoing and improving. Larkeche won't be out forever. And we've just signed an Aussie U17 International.

If you can find better options, all well and good. Otherwise, we stick with what we already have.

In Thailand ATM, so getting up at 2am to watch was never going to happen. I didnt think wed win, based on their Cat 1 credentials. It does sound like we made a decent game of it - after the 2 early goals.

Is there going to be a highlights video?

Pretty fair.
Recruitment does seem better targeted than previously. Compare this season to last, as a good example.
Finding buyers for the likes of Kelman, Dykes and now Frey is a real positive.
Sponsorship is up.
Communications often comes across as robotic.
100 people with Performance in their job titles and we end up with half the first team out for weeks/months. A root and branch review is needed. I dont care if the U16s and below + the Women's team have 98% availability. It's the First Team that counts.

Solid professional. Gave it his all. Technically limited and completely lacking pace., which made his impact disappointing.. sounds like he did gar more than we know, off the pitch.
I wish him well and would welcome him back. As a supporter.

Harry Amass who was on loan from Man U to Sheff Wed has joined Norwich on loan. I thought he looked decent against us.
Owls losing Bannan and Amass could mean their points total will remain negative all season.

Four minutes of madness – Report

Given the grappling and fouling by Kabore at EVERY corner, is there anything to prevent a ref from calling it what it surely is - a foul and a penalty?

OK give the defender a warning first. But after the 3rd/4th time, draw a line and blow up. I believe the ball would need to be in play, but that shouldnt cause a major issue, as the wrestling always continues.
